Les's Men stand alone atop the Hogg Champions League table as the only unbeaten side after the fifth round of matches. Les' latest victims were the Crabs who got smashed by 199 points as the Lessie's continue to take all before them this season. Naturally it is MILLER time as always as this gun team continues to perform well in a tough league and they will be one of the contenders for the inaugural HCL crown when the whips are cracking in August. The Denver Crows lost their first match of the season in HCL when they got rolled by the Underdogs who have finally started to resemble the vicious breed of previous seasons.

My pre-season premiership tip Buddy Franklin has so far avoided my famous kiss of death prediction and they sit comfortably in the top four at four wins one loss with Corky being his latest conquest. Halem hawks made it two unlucky losses in two leagues despite scoring a bloody good score - this time it was the Greedy 'back in town' Guns who got the choccies against the luckless Hawks. Darksiders got away with a lower score because once again when he was struggling he was playing a dud side in my Cat Empire who don't really belong in this company on present form.

Has Bee and the Marion ManBearPigs turned in performances reminiscent of last season to get back on the winnners list and Dutchy had a great weekend racking up 2455 points which was more than enough to bag two wins in the two top leagues and the win was badly needed in this comp as it was his first for the season.

Two words, HEAD TO HEAD. You need to win matches to make the top four, not just score points. Most teams will score well up here. Most teams. ;)

Couldnt possibly have his luck again like last year. 5 losses by less than 10 points

Like I said you've got to win the matches. We need Dutchy to frame a market or something. You're right though that is stiff. However don't say it can't happen again because that shit seems to happen to Jims TigerRoos every year.

Not happy with it though. Me Les and Hips got $50 each on who will score more total points.
I've led all year, was level last week with Les and now he has jumped clear of me!

Les's Men, MILLER MOSQUITOES and Buddy Franklin have all begun to sneak away from the pack a little in the Champions League as they all recorded impressive victories in the sixth round. Les's Men have been the team of the Hogg so far as they remain unbeaten in Division I and in HCL as well. For a team that was ranked in the middle of Division III for the majority of last season it has been a meteoric rise for the second year Hogg Shield Coach.

MILLERS MOSQUITOES are a third year coach who scored well but didn't win many (Division I) matches in their first year but have hardly suffered a defeat in the past two seasons. The Mozzies are now unbeaten in Premier League, ranked number 2 in the Hogg and are one of the dominant coaches in the Champions League this season. Joining these two great sides is Buddy Franklin who have fired up in no uncertain terms after a slow start this season. Buddy's record in the HCL is better than his Division I record so far but when a team can win games despite my kiss of death then that's a big tick for the coach because normally my endorsement is poison.

The Longwood Lions are overdue for a bit of praise and they have worked their way into the top eight even though I tried to dud them a win a few weeks ago LOL. This week the Lions rolled a luckless Cork in the Ocean and they look set for higher honours in the Hogg with a possible promotion to the Premier League in the wind. Crab Mustard managed to get four points for his 2421 in the Champions League when he couldn't do the same thing in Division III and The Cat Empire finally scored some points to defeat Halem Hawks who we also had in the Premier League this week.

In an unprecented set of results the most decorated side in Hogg history, Darksiders SCE lost thier third game in four matches whe they got cleaned up by Underdogs who are the Dogs Bollocks at the moment after a few limp efforts early doors. The ManBearPigs from Marion recorded another important victory and they also sit snugly in the eight but for how long?? Watch this space......

The Big Three of the Hogg Champions League have all won and have snuck away from the field after the seventh round of matches. Les' Men have yet to taste defeat in either HCL or Division I in what has been a remarkable season so far by the Les be men. It might be MILLER time in Hogg Premier but Les might have a big say to see if MILLERS MOSQUITOES are good enough to go on and get the double this season. My pre-season premiership tip Buddy Franklin is going much better than the real thing and he sits in the third spot and well away from the shitfight that is starting to develop below.

These last five places in the top eight are absolutely anybody's with even the last three teams not totally out of the hunt. You can never write down a match as won in this league with last placed Halem Hawks springing the upset against the Underdogs being just one example of how close this comp is. Denver Crows started like a house on fire but the problem is they might now be burnt out. The ManBearPigs might be fierce creatures but it's not much good if they catch a dose of the Crabs.

There's no dud teams in this league....only dud jokes.

This time last week I was talking up the 'big three' of the Champions League and expecting them not to lose too many matches for the rest of the season. BUZZ WRONG again REB as all three of them tumbled to upset losses in Round 8 of the HCL.

Les's Men hadn't lost a match in HCL or Division I but he had a poor round this week and while DunKzKrew couldn't punish Les in Division I, Darksiders SCE didn't miss their chance in the Champions League and Les has now suffered his first Hogg loss for the season. MILLERS MOSQUITOES are another team that is very tough to beat but they were pipped at the post by Underdogs who have built up quite a rivalry with them over the past two seasons of SuperCoach. In a touch of of irony, Buddy Franklin the team failed in a week when Buddy Franklin the player had his best ever game in SuperCoach and he got done by the Hippies who are nowhere near the top of this ladder.

All of this is good news for Crab Mustard who now look safely ensconsed in the top four of HCL and Hogg Division III and they have been very consistent with their scoring throughout the season even if they have had a few high scoring losses along the way. The Dark Side can never be discounted and their win over Les shows that they will have a big say in how this first ever HCL will turn out.

Last week I also said that there were no dud teams in this comp but at 1-7 it is hard to make a case now for Dutchy, Pump up ze Jams and Halem Hawks as finalists and I reckon The Cat Empire is a long odds of making it as well. Still...where there's life there's hope...just need a few more upsets...but not by Greedy Guns. :(

Les's Men continue to lead the way in the Champions League with yet another win this time against the lowly Halem Hawks. In a very low scoring round a couple of the leading teams had tough matches with Buddy Franklin prevailing over Crab Mustard with an important win. Darksiders have snaffled third spot after MILLERS MOSQUITOES were stung by the Honey Badgers who are starting to generate some momentum. Their partner in crime from last year Has Been is also starting to shift up a gear and they took care of Corky who has fallen off the back of the pack in recent weeks.

The Marion ManBearPigs are going better in the Champions League than they are in Division I and with their proven record of winning premierships they could be a dark horse to snaffle this premiership. Teams currently inside the eight had better watch out for Underdogs who appear to have their mojo back. Hips don't Lie kept their finals hopes alive by defeating middle of the road Longwood Lions but The Cat Empire appear doomed now as Pump up ze jams recorded an important victory that keeps them ahead of Halem and Dutchy with the Empire now two games plus percentage out of the top eight.

Les's Men have got the wobbles during the bye period and they lost their second match of the season this week to MILLERS who like Darksiders, will be aiming for the Hogg Champions/Hogg Premier double. Buddy Franklin's winning form has continued and they stay ahead of the Darkside after they snuck over the line against Has Been who has struggled for consistent form so far this year.

MILLERS win means there is no room in the top four for the ManBearPigs, Longwood Lions or Denver Crows who all recorded important wins this week. Crab Mustard had a brain fart with the reverse trades button during a partial lockout and his score this week didn't cut the mustard in Division III let alone in Champions League. His error now sees the Crabs scuttle all the way down to 8th spot.

Teams in the middle of the ladder are under a bit of pressure all of a sudden as Greedy Guns, The Cat Empire and Pump up ze Jams have all recorded wins and all would harbour some hope of pinching 7th or 8th spot. Dutchy claimed an important win over fellow straggler Halem Hawks who now look to be the first ever Champions League wooden spooners after losing their bottom of the table clash.

Buddy Franklin has taken a giant hanger and now sits on top of the ladder after eleven matches in the Hogg Champions League. Les hasn't gone anywhere, he's still 9-2 and looking smooth but Buddy racked up a nice percentage boost after scoring an impressive 1921 in a round where you could consider 1600 a pretty good score.

Darksiders and MILLERS got wins in the HCL that they didn't get in Premier League as they were let off by Corky and Dutchy respectively. Halem Hawks got the jump on a suprisingly disappointing ManBearPigs to move above Dutchy and send his Dodos to the bottom of the premiership table. The top four teams now have a two game buffer over the field and you'd have to think that the top four are in, the bottom two are probably out and the other 12 teams will spend the remainder of the year fighting over the last four places in the finals.

Teams that have lost their way in recent weeks include Longwood Lions, Underdogs and Greedy Guns and teams who have picked up a bit include The Cat Empire, Pump up ze Jams and Has Been. How much of that is down to Bye madness remains to be seen but the first Hogg Champions League has proven to be a very hard fought and even comp indeed.

Buddy is a game clear on top of the ladder after all of the other top four sides fell over during round 12 in a set of results that are very similar to what happened in the Premier League this week. Buddy's win over Darksiders SCE has shown that he is one of the best SuperCoaches in the Hogg as he cleaned up the Dark Side reasonably easily.

The Marion ManBearPigs took advantage of a poor weekend for MILLERS to put the heat on with the ManBearPigs only one game outside of the top four now and with a superior percentage. The Longwood Lions are enjoying the fact that the bye period is over and they returned to top form against a Denver Crows outfit that forgot to rejig their side after the bye week. You can't afford to do that in this company Denver! lovetotalkfooty's lapse has seen the Denver Crows slip all the way down to 11th with Has Been, Greedy Guns and The Cat Empire all swooping after collecting round 12 wins.

Pump up ze jams has continued with their form surge of late and they accounted for top eight side Crab Mustard FC who are starting to look over their shoulder at the Empire and the Greedy Guns who are starting to mow them down. Halem Hawks earnt another top win to move off the bottom of the ladder yet again but Underdogs, Corky and especially Hips Don't Lie are in free fall with the Halem Hawks looking good to overtake the latter two sides in particular.

The bottom four can probably be counted out of finals calculation but due to some iffy form by the top sides in recent weeks the door has opened somewhat in Champions League for the teams in 9th-14th place with several of these sides in season best form. Look out Crabby!

Buddy Franklin is looking good for the Minor Premiership in Hogg Champions League with four matches to play. Buddy has got themselves a two game buffer after Les's Men slumped to another loss, this time to the dangerous Underdogs. Darksiders as usual remain a threat moving into second now after they cleaned up Longwood Lions and MILLERS MOSQUITOES also got a win up after comfortably defeating Cork in the Ocean who is really starting to struggle in top company this season.

Has Been scored 2452 to lead the league and has had a good week after he cleaned up Crab Mustard in HCL and old rival Honey Badgers in Division I. Crabby is now out of the top eight as Greedy Guns grabbed their place by knocking off the Marion ManBearPigs by 23 points. Hips Don't Lie had an even tighter squeeze as they defeated the Denver Crows in a match that might have put a massive dent in the Crows' finals hopes.

At the bottom end of the ladder Dutchy won his third match in HCL after coming from behind to beat my Cat Empire after I looked home and hosed for most of the weekend. Dutchy and the Halem Hawks have been duking it out for last all year but both appear to be in better form than Corky who may yet get the dubious honour of being the first ever coach to win the spoon in the Champions League.

There was plenty of solid scoring this week in the Champions League with all coaches in the league topping the 2100 mark. Ladder leader Buddy Franklin got rollled this week by Premier League oppostion MILLERS MOSQUITOES and had their lead cut to one match over the ever dangerous Darksiders SCE, a team with a proven Hogg premiership winning record.

Leading the scoring in Champions league was my mob (for once) after being the lowest scorer in the league for several weeks in a row earlier in the year with Marion ManBearPigs being the unlucky side to cop my score. Crab Mustard got up over Denver Crows who have lost their way in recent rounds and Crabby has now taken Greedy Guns' place in the top eight after the Guns got rolled by Cork in the Ocean who had a good round this week in both Champions and Premier League.

Dutchy continued with his late season charge and his upset win over the Underdogs has seen them once again get the edge in his season long running battle to avoid the spoon with Halem Hawks who now hold the dubious honour. Three weeks to go and there are 13 teams still in the hunt for this title as I wouldn't want to be two games out with three matches to play in this company.

Not a lot of change here in Champions League with most of the favoured teams beating those they should as we count down to the finals. Percentage is very even so you could make a case for the top thirteen teams to make an finals appearance but 13th ranked Denver Crows is sadly out of form after a bright start so I wouldn't be expecting the mob from Denver to make the eight.

In fact the top eight could be sealed because good teams don't leave the door open. This is tough for my Empire and the Greedy Guns who have had their moments this year but are looking like we could be squeezed out in what is an absolutely brutal comp. Out of the top eight sides only MILLERS and Crabby lost so the only real change at the top end is that Has Been has snuck into the top four. Has Been and Honey Badgers both had huge years in 2011 but both started slowly this year however, Has Been has recovered well where the Honey Badgers have not.

At the foot of the table it has been a battle in two as Dutchy and Halem Hawks duked it out but in recent weeks Hips Don't Lie has lost that winning feeling and they were well beaten by Halem Hawks. It is possible now that Hips Don't Lie could end up with the spoon if the Hawks can continue to fight it out this season. The Hawks are trying to avoid relegation in Premier League so they have plenty to play for and the Hippys percentage is not good. Corky is another mob who could finish stone motherless so we are talking about some pretty good teams ending up with the dreaded wooden implement here.

Hogg Champions League 2012

Postby Bigshow82 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 7:52 am

Knew I was going to have 2 donuts this week but decided not to trade but ended up with 3. If I knew I would have been so close to beating Buddy Franklin I would have at least made one trade. I think this has cost me any chance to make the 8.

Well, I figured I could type up any old shit because clearly no **** reads this thread after I made a complete cock up of the ladder for about the third week in a row and no bastard said anything LOL.

Anyway I wish Crabby would piss off because I'm in form and I could still miss the finals here!

All set up for a thriller, got lucky last week, winning with 3 donuts, will have to be full strength to have any chance against the Mozzies this week.
