"Bears are an overpaid basket case which will sadly see a few blokes regretting their decision while others will look for scapegoats and at the end of the day the poor bloody club will be no better off. They've not received higher gate takings, have not won a game and the buzz has almost fizzled out. [/quote]"

Champ, what are you smoking?

Meningie have played only 1 game on their home turf this year in which there was an estimated record attendance for a H&A match at the ground so how can you say that gate takings have not increased.

Meningie are 0-4, not bad considering the 4 teams they have played are sitting in the top 4 spots on the ladder at the minute and in all bar 1 game they were in a position to win the match. the next 2 weeks at home against lesser sides has come at a perfect time to get some confidence and get a couple of wins on the board. i say look out RMFL when meningie hit their straps.

also not a bad result on the weekend againt a premiership favourite considering they had some notable outs in Cunneen, Motlop, Mcleod and Orr, i think their was half of the B grade running around in the League side on Sat.

Surely you can't be serious.

Which AFL club would snap him up. None come to mind at the moment.

In fairness to Chester, I think he was quoting another poster.

Sorry, yes was supposed to be tongue in cheek as he has stated that he has apparent AFL aspirations.

I agree with none of this so I must be high on whatever it is Im smoking. Firstly your post of a 'record' crowd is the complete opposite of all other reports so I apologise but someone/people are telling porky pies.
secondly how come EVERYONE that the Bears have played seem to be the premiership favourite? Four games down against these sides means playing finals footy is going to be a tough task particularly if Jervois and Tailem take games from them. So how far off the mark is my opinion because its not based on fiction....?

After watching the Bears pressure us all day and come within a point of last years runners up on our home ground, I think they are far from the worst team in the league ATM

Yeah they have spent up big and havent seen results yet but judging by the weekends performance, they arent that far of the mark and bring back a couple players they are missing and they may do some real damage

I think this shows that the lower teams are closing the gap on the top 3 and makes every round an interesting one. Gone are the days from 2-3 years ago where we expected to rock up against Tailem or Meninge and boost our percentage.

The team in real trouble are Jervois as they dont seem to have a lot of depth and there lower 5 or 6 players drop of in skill level quickly. Surely they can scrag you and keep up for a half but I expect to see Meninge roll them comfortably when they meet.

A win against Jervois and Tailem in the next 2 weeks and all of a sudden there confidence will be up and the supporters will return. I just hope the games where Mcleod and Motlop play they dont rely on them to do it all as they didnt seem to need them on the weekend

Something must've changed in a week then biffboy because the week before against Imps they were a pathetic rabble... Even had players out on the oval commenting that they have no game plan, and they don't know what they are doing out there and Motlop doesn't teach them anything....

Definintely looked against Imps like a side who would be lucky to beat anybody.... Was very surprised to hear they got anywhere near Ramblers considering they flogging they gave Imps in round 1.

The Bears have a good recent record against Tailem on their home ground, so Meningie will go in favourites to record their first win this week.

Fair call Willy. I guess inconsistency is common when there are so many new players in a side, not disimilar to ourselves who look awesome in patches like against you guys but really struggle at other times.

Maybe it was just an awesome display of coaching against us

Think you'll find the final margin was closer to 8 goals.... Apart from a lapse by Imps in the third quarter could've been much much more.... Have to agree somewhat about the umpiring.... I'm sure they'd be the first ones to admit it wasn't their best display....

Sorry, 37 points..

My Mail on hazel Jnr is that he is often seen lurking around the under 15's netball matches... You could start hazel jnr by spending some time after games with your team mates instead of spending Saturday nights entertaining all of the locals kids...Never call me dad...it is Mr Hazel to you...

Imps are a class above Mypo, would think that a 10 goal win by Imps would not be out of the question..

I haven't seen Ramblers yet, what are the thoughts on the clash with the Roo's this week??

For what it's worth I'm going Imps by 7 goals over Mypo.
Mannum over Ramblers by a couple of kicks.
Tailem over the Bears in another close one.
