Some milestones out at the Lodge for both sides today...
Congratulations to Brian Rudgley who will play his 250th game for the Lodge in the B grade today and to Shane Brown who will play his 150th in the A grade. Both great achievements, lets see if we can get up for them...

Credit where credit is due today. Overall WC outplayed us, as the final score shows perfectly. Bad kicking is bad footy Rammers, hope we can improve greatly in front of the big sticks.

Superb fight back by WC and good execution of skill in front of goals to put the scoreboard pressure on. Good thing for us, its only May.

As always, looking forward to the return leg.

Any of the clubs who in the past have been known for a bit of BIFFO on field and have developed a reputation because of their past. Are you now still getting that rep following ya around? I saw a bunch of young lads yesterday copping some of the most piss weak decisions, but on the other end saw senior men taking cheap shots at kids and nothing happens ( not that I'm against the cheap shot, but not being able to give it back without getting away with it sucks). I'm sick of umps looking after college type sides and given em a fair whack of an advantage while not given the clubs with old rePs a chance. Sometimes it's so bloody obvious and it can change the flow of a game and often does. This is a complete go at the maggots, not any club.... Just a rant! West Croydon looked good yesterday by the way!

They did Beeched. Setup plenty of scoring shots and executed the skills well in nailing most of them. Their fight back and belief was quite impressive. Generally worked harder and hit harder than their opponents. Their drive to win was stronger when it mattered.

Having said all that though,

I wouldn't be happy about conceding 40 scoring shots (+ a few on the full from 30 out) to a team that was disappointing.

Was gonna say before I read the end that you must have been out at Webb Oval yesterday. I didn't think they were too bad though. Have had plenty worse than that.

I do hope the B grade umpire slept well last night though.

Ahh it just sh#ts me bud. Gaurentee ya that when rosies, haven and WC, play each other. Whistles seem to go missing and that's not fair on those clubs. Coz the whistles are out in force when those clubs play the college type sides.

A good game of footy between Lutheran and Havens on Saturday, Luthies took their chances better and deserved the win. It's always tough out there and and they are once again the tallest team we have played.

One good thing to come out of the game was that we don't have the worst surface in Div 5 this year.

Went into the club for a beer afterwards, have never felt as unwelcome in an opposition club rooms as I did on Saturday, will be my last appearance in there.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet
