South should play a very inform Port Melbourne. Those guys have not dropped and game in over a year and are playing great football. Port are a stand alone club with no AFL players.

It was 28 consecutive wins until they lost to Collingwood this weekend.

Yes you would think Port Melbourne
BUT
the game is in Darwin at 10.30am in the morning,
which will mean Port will have some adjusting to do.

I made the trip to the "G" for yesterdays game and wasn't sorry.

Saying we out numbered the locals by 2-1 was Vic spin. It was more like 4 or 5 to 1.

The ground announcer had obviously not read his running sheet as he introduced Williamstown was playing South Australia.

The seagulls flooded like the Brisbane River during the first quarter but we broke through in the second. Then we commenced to almost kick ourselves out of the game by missing set shots from 30 metres straight in front and when running into an open goal. It frustrated the crap out of me.

If we'd kicked straight the Vic press wouldn't have got away with the line that Williamstown lost the game in the final minutes.

Good to see an SA play an almost full strength side in the comp. Result is probably a better reflection of where the two leagues are at, South being a mid table SANFL side while Williamstown being last years grand finalists played on a ground barely any SA players would have played on before and still won.

If your gonna be in it be there to win it unlike Westies who embarrased their club!

GREAT WORK SOUTH! I hope continue to put your best side on the park and get the results.

Was there a strong swirling breeze inside the G? Most of the South Adelaide blokes probably have never played at the ground or it was when they were back in U/18's.

Just got home myself too.. a great win but we really made hard work of it, with poor kicking for goal.
Williamstown certainly did flood like the Brisbane river even more than the Flood and tars. Easy to see that Peter German was their coach as he also ran a Pagans Paddock forward line which caught us a few times. Overall our workrate was good enough to get the points against a side with 11 AFL listed players v our 2 (1 a rookie), and 6-7 first pick starters out with injury. I liked Dowdell's game ,thought he really is showing some good signs and of course Liddle was everywhere.
Overall a really great experience, GO PANTHERS

Agree that we represented the SANFL as a half decent comp, unlike West who did nothing more than embarass us.

We are the clearance kings in the SANFL and it certainly exposed the VFL side, we just need to finish a little better (like against Port) and we can be very dangerous.

The Vic press cared?

Did the SA press care for that matter? Didn't see a mention of it in the Mail, not that I was looking for one...

Yep, Kym Morgan was sent over to cover the game and had a half page article in today's SM on the Panthers win...

Williamstown are a shadow of last years side, struggling at the moment in the VFL sitting mid table and having seen them close up a few weeks back they will be lucky to make finals.
Good to see South field a decent side and would be nice to see them go further

Is that now about 120 years South is unbeaten at the MCG?

Sportsbet doesn't agree with you....

Williamstown $1.27
South Adelaide $3.70

Line 24.5 @ 1.90

I tipped it :)
