Round 7 v Geelong

Postby D14 » Tue May 08, 2012 10:50 am

So with McKernan out suspended do we bring in another ruckman in Jenkins (kicked 4 goals on the weekend) so we can leave Tippett up forward?

I think this has worked well over the last few weeks. I know Tippett hasn't kicked many goals but I think our forward line looks more dangerous this way and our small forwards have been in good positions when he contests and brings it to ground.

What are our other options? Brodie Martin is playing well for Sturt.

Depends what the weather is doing. Expected to be 16 degrees and showers so a smaller type player would be the way to go.

missed last years clash with Geelong, so watched it the other night for the first time and was suprised by Aiden Riley.
first time i saw the kid play and seems hard at it and fairly evasive..

how far away would he be to get a call up?
how is he going for his local sanfl side.

Round 7 v Geelong

I think the crows are a Monty this week, and the 2.25 is great value. and if they do win they will almost be certainties for the top 8. With 6 wins and 4 games against port, gws, gold coast and Melbourne still to come
I love vegatarian food. It goes great with steak.

Was very impressed with Tom Lynch in the pre-season games and as a sub in the first couple of games. Would he be an option. Hows his form been at the bays?

Jenkins in, McKernan out.

Like for like replacement. Really like what I've seen from Jenkins in the SANFL, will have a real crack. Could become a crowd favourite IMO.

Real happy Jenkins got a go, and think we stucture up better with Tipp staying FWD.... Jenkins can also go FWD and we can make their tall defenders accountable. Sando will be not wanting to let Lonergan, Scarlett, Taylor peal off all day.

Maybe a Reilly or Henderson. I think Johncock should play further up the ground but may get Motlop.

Scarlett also out for Geelong.
Lyons is the sub for us.

Obviously a very tough opponent, but at home we should win.

Think the damage was done by half time. Clubs went back in the bag and Geelong wrote the game off too.

We won't get it that easy again. I'd like to see a stat where a first year coach plays their former employers. Be @ least 50/50 I reckon....

I noticed that during the 1st 1/4 the crowd looked really thin, more like a Power game, then quickly filled in to look like a reasonable size. Question to anyone that was there, did alot of people arrive late due to the early start and junior sports commitments?

I would say that would be the case. 35 thousand was a reasonable crowd considering morphettville and amateur league footy.

Absolutely fantastic 4 qtr effort on the weekend. Ive watched the game twice and cant get over the transformation in the side. Petrenko's game on the weekend, epitomised the competitive spirit sando has in the boys and walker was not far behind him. The gap between our top tier and our 2nd and 3rd tier players has drastically closed.

Impressed with Jenkins, he showed he is ready when required.... question. Does he play this week or does Smac come back in?

Lyons looks a likely type as well.

Was thinking the other day, if/when we keep danger/sloane we also have young Crouch in the wings and Kerrigde will end up taking over from Thomo

I didn't get to game until a couple of minutes into the second quarter. I had an appointment that was planned around the original start time that couldn't be changed. At least they kept playing well after I got there, I almost didn't bother when I was still in McLaren Vale at 12.30. Glad I did though.
