I think he left it all at Red Square..

I don't know much about Pohl but I'd think that a season like this is a great chance for him to stand up & help Pistols kick some goals. If they stick around, in a couple of seasons they could be formiddable.

Not so sure about that JQ, don't think Pistola is a real stay at home forward, has played up the ground when ive seen him in recent times and hasn't been damaging on the scoreboard unless given a free reign. With all those quality players gone you'd think he would be in line for closer attention.. For Pohl it's going to be hard to develop on the number big defender from the opposition and in a struggling side. Hard to find decent KPP players these days so I feel up forward will be a weakness for loftys.
On lobethal- is Matty jenkin playing? He was great last year and probably showed up older brother Tim. Haven't seen his name yet? Lobey have a good midfield when at full strength.
Another question for barker followers- where is jinette? How is he going? Thought he would thrive playing in the mt barker running game.

cant believe there's so much discussion about someone who was only a fringe a-grader at bridgewater (and they've been in the bottom two for the past 6 years).

pohl is an average b-grader. if he played at blackwood or ironbank, he'd struggle to be in the b grade starting 18.

Think you'll find Gervais young Shearwood has had osteopubis really bad for 3 yrs so has really only played 1 yr of the last 3 yrs. had an operation to repair late last year and still troubles him perhaps. He was their under 18 captain last year and also played some good ressies footy last year and some said he should have had a crack at the next level but Norman didn't agree. Came 4th in the 18s medal I am led to believe and led their goalkicking and tackles from looking at the SANFL stats site. Like young Popey at barker they say could be too small so they don't really get a fair crack. Playing as small forwards at sturt is the hardest thing these kids can do unlike some who just run off half back and get easy kicks and lack accountablity. There where 3 or 4 hills kids including young James Tripodi from Hahndorf last year playing 18's who quite often had 25-30 touches a game and did the hard yards, the tackles & 1% ers and got absolutely no recognition. Sometimes you need to walk away and then go back next year with different coaches and have another try. One thing sturt are terrible at is keeping kids. If you look at all Barker they have I think 7 or 8, hahndorf would have half a dozen on A grade lists all playing good footy in the hills. Thank god Michael Bawden is there as he tries to look after the kids and is the first coach at junior level there at sturt I have seen actually communicate with these young fellows. Good on him and hopefully he goes back to coaching at a higher level to keep these kids in the club next year.

I think you will find Matt Jenkins was named best last week and his brother Tim has been a regular in the best players so far this season and is playing really good footy so far
Lobey has a fabulous mid field when there are no injuries. They seem to be a dedicated group of lads with the club at heart!

Barkeroos won in all grades but A Grade got a fright from Lobey and had to scrap for the win.

Dale Ellis had perfect delivery very had to stop as a defender but he earnt his $$$

Three things I learnt from the tv lofty game

1. Tv have improved but are still a bunch of mercenaries who play for themselves
2. Lofty have some of the best youngsters in hills
3. Hills umpires think they belong in the afl !

Garbage. You weren't around in the 90s I take it. Not that the record improves particularly.

Check the results AF! I think you'll find TB is correct. I watched the game until half time and thought the thuderers had the cabbage cutters measure. They must have laid down in the second half.
