Matties ok - Who is the one person that has been there through this since prior 2007 and never gets his name mentioned when it comes to blame but has a big say in what goes on. Cancer man they call him the quiet assassin - Mr Rhode. Look what he achieved over the last year or so. Got rid of club legends, drove a division between the players then re-signed the drongos that got them to second bottom last year. He then had a say in recruiting a second rate coaching group who are learning as they go as well as apart from Brad Ebert recruiting not a lot else this year. Mr Rhode loves hearing his voice on the radio I reckon. He's like fabulous Phil Harper from the crows - maybe they could be a double act as they have so much self importance they can fill a jar full of cra........ what a rosey bright future. Perhaps Matty will get rid of them. Can you hear the day they get beat by GWS

South?? Cahill, Applegarth, Scott, Davies, Reid, Pyman, Sampson et al, all say hello
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Traditionally, both coaches won't leave on their own accord.

Cahill walked and Sampson was simply not reappointed. I reckon Pyman may have been sacked and not sure about the others. Wasn't Scott in the 80's? Didn't Reid leave to join the Crows?

Russell Ebert was never sacked from Port. His contract was not renewed. Discuss. :P

South have only "sacked" two coaches in the past umpteen years, definition of sacked rightly being having their employment contact terminated by the club before the expiry, and they are Ken Sheldon and Rob Pyman. All others left of their own accord or their contracts, once expiried, weren't renewed.

Serious question - so Don Scott left of his own choosing, or was perhaps a mutual decision?

Well I think the players made it clear they didn't want him there so he left before he was pushed.

I think not only was he a sh*t coach - I don't think he had won a game when he left but the final nail in his coffin was declaring his sexuality before the playing group to quash rumours that were doing the rounds at the time!

Apparently SAFC people are very conservative and homophobic!

I'd like to think at a progressive club like Norwood the players in the same situation would give the coach a quick cuddle and then break into a chorus of 'It's Raining Men' to make him (or indeed her) feel comfortable.
