Rnd 8 - Eagles v Sturt @ Unleash Solar Oval (Sun 13/5)

Postby Big Phil » Mon May 07, 2012 11:27 am

The Reigning Premiers finally got the monkey off the back with their first win of thre season last week against South. The Double Blues slipped to their 3rd consecutive loss and will be desperate to get back in the winners circle. Both sides have a few injury concerns leading into this game and both will also have to deal with AFL player selections as well.

Could the win last week for the Eagles finally have the monkey off their back and will we see their season kick into gear from here? Sturt need to get back to basics and try and get their year back on track. We'll find out the answer in this Mother's Day clash.

The Eagles in a canter.

No real reason. I just like the sound of the word canter.

Canter! canter! canter!

Yes, yes it is only if he doesn't get injuried during training and there will be a banner.

Very good. He is a champion. The best (and my favourite) player I've seen pull on the tri-colours and I reckon some of his best games have been against Sturt as well so appropriate he plays his 200th against them.

Again a must win. 2-5 going into a double bye and the season can be salvaged and some momentum built. Powell, Giuffreda and Salter would be handy inclusions in a couple of months if we can get around the mark.

I wonder if Poole will get a chance with Cica out through injury? Seems to be in the best players in the reserves every week despite probably being the smallest player on the list (and maybe in the whole competition).

A shame this game is being played on Mothers Day. Still planning how I'm possibly going to convince my wife an afternoon at the footy would be a great way to spend it.

Alas with Crows v Geelong up the road on Saturday Afternoon ... Sunday it had to be.

We are doing a Ladies Day promotion including some free champange pre-match.

Check out club communications during the week.

Probably won't be able to go to this game, being Mothers Day. I have an elderly mother in a nursing home that I don't know how many more Mothers Days we will have with.
It is carp that this is programmed for Sunday to apparently appease the AFL fans instead of the loyal SANFL fans. But, really, how many fans would likely attend both the Crows game & this one ?

Thank Christ for that! I trust the running sheet producer will be alerted and the information updated in afore mentioned literature?
