ME - youve certainly done your history very well !!!! excellent work. South have not won a flag since 1964 and done little since-correct. The ensuing 48 years have seen some dark times and lean years. However things have never been that tough that we have seen it necessary to jump into bed with the next door neighbour.

Seems the merger is still touchy with teams who struggle to beat the Eagles .Even when the Eagles are struggling lmao ;)
If South fans can only complain about the eagles merger god help them the next 48yrs .They should in theory be like Centrals but down south !

Barring the recent on field success and over population of poms, they are.

The merger was really just correcting a mistake of admitting Woodville back in the 60's. Centrals was always going to work due to the growing area but ANOTHER side in the western suburbs was folly.
Maybe South should follow the lead of the Eagles and merge with West ? Might see a premiership in your life time then !

In all seriousness, if South were able to make Panther Park at St.Marys their home ground 30-40 years ago, things may have been different.

THe great irony was that the admittance of Woodville save South Adelaude. As often stated when the league wanted to bring Central into the comp the preferred oprtion was to replace South with Central. Four of the clubs agreed with that option four were against and it was only the casting vote of the league president which saved South. This was about 1962 and South were in another lull where they never finished higher than sixth in an eight team competition between 1945 and 1963.

Interesting assuming he is an adult of around my age - Norwood from my recall won it in 1975, 1978, 1982, 1984, 1997?

PS He can watch full replays of his teams last Premierships and all in Colour!

Well I like the black and white footage of the 1964 grand final.... It has a certain nostalgic look about it . Sort of a bit like the academy award picture of 2012 " the artist".

If you even get a chance to look at the 1964 grand final it sure is a fine piece of film making unlike your modernized pieces of work ;)
