Popped out to Salisbury this afternoon, great crowd and a good game of football by Athelstone, far too good in the air and plenty more players running hard all day.

Big story doing the rounds at Thebarton today. Kilburn have been stripped of all their A Grade premiership points by playing the first 3 rounds with 17 player points instead of the max of 15.
Could have big ramifactions in the long run.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

so what happens to the teams they beat when they where over the points. If they where over the points then the teams they beat would have to get the points for the game wouldn't they. Last year in c6 shot came in at round 3 to take the spot of a team that pulled out SMOSH and Salisbury where awarded a forfeit which was suppose to be a bye. If this happens could see the ladder completely change and Kilburn sitting at 0-4.

Well if this is true i hope the SAAFL do act on it, if the dont it will make the whole points system a joke. If kilburn have broken the rules they should loose there points. will watch this one to see what happens.

Going by the named team for Kilburn, there are 9 club imports: Allen, Brading, Clutton, Holberton, Long, Molyneux, Pearce, Schapel, Williams.

How do they all fit in the 15 point cap?

  I Thought it was all sorted that they wern't over the cap..............If they were it will be interesting to see what happens with their premiership points and if they are awarded to the teams they have already played

I agree, makes no sense in the city. We have had to turn blokes away who want to play for the club because of points. These are people who just want to play with their mates.

I understand that the league does not provide a list of players and what points they are worth. it is up to clubs to find out themselves. This can be tricky in certain situations eg SANFL ressies player drops to SAAFL then changes clubs the next year, also for players who played a fair amount of B grade the year before.

A list of points should be made available to all clubs prior to round 1 to avoid confusion.

Having said that, if we have broken the rules we should have been nmore diligent and we will cop the penalty and move on. We will need to win a few more games to catch up.

What's trickie about it the sanfl have a set guide of how much players are worth from certain leagues/grades. So you get a new player ask where he is from find out how many points that league grade is worth and that's it, then you add up all your points nothing more to it. According to the footy budget it's not that kilburn made a mistake as they have been trying to find ways to be able to play with more then 15 points. Maybe the sanfl should take away there 15 points for the year.

Or it should be the responsibility of the league to determine the points, then have them so they automatically show when you enter the players name on the teamsheets. That's what happens in some country league's I believe.

That is currently what happens. When you print team sheets on sporting pulse you can clearly see what players are points and how many points they are

Seriously dont think its that hard for clubs to figure out on their own..........
if in any doubt about a players point value a quick call to the Leagues office will generally clear the matter up ...

No excuses in my opinion for playing with more points than allowed...you only have to take 1 sock off to be sure

I would be surprised in a club like Kilburn got it wrong..embarrasing I would imagine
Opinions and bumholes..you either have one or are one IMO

Providing the club has entered them. All I am saying is it should be the league's responsibility imo. Clubs can make legitimate mistakes at a huge penalty. What happens if a club deliberately leaves one out, wins a flag and no one picks it till its over. Just sayin'.

Then that side loses their 'premiership'. It's not that hard for clubs to monitor, surely you know where the blokes you have recruited played the year before?

Dumb post

whats dumb about it? is the fact you don't understand the points system or the point about kilburn trying to find ways to play over the 15? If it's the point about trying to play over the 15 points i'm only going by what was in the footy budget, which has the most experienced and people in the know in the saafl.
