Very ordinary performance from the hosts. Eagles much sharper and took their opportunities in the first half. South didn't.

Seemed to get slaughtered around the stoppages, and our backline is a worry with the likes of Thewlis, McNamara and Crabb not there. Severely lacking height and bulk.

First ten minutes of the third term summed up the night in some ways. South had the ball in their forward half for most of it, couldn't do anything with the footy, and bang..eagles broke through the middle, had free men everywhere and nailed the first goal.

Can't remember too many clean, concise passages of footy from us tonight. It was never going to be a night when our tall forward held many grabs, yet nobody worked hard enough to get to their feet and become a crumbing option.

Long, cold night all round.

He has been added. Didn't have his kicking boot on during the first half. A couple of awful attempts. Came good after the break.

Good to finally get a win and start the long road back ... the signs look better but there's still a lot of work to do.

After losing Greiger at half time and Cicolella at the opening bounce of the third quarter so that we were left with only one on the bench, it was probably a good effort to not lose much of the half time lead for the remainder of the game. Not sure on the seriousness of Greiger's injury but it looked like Cicolella did a hamstring. With only one game in the next month, hopefully they'll only miss this one and be back in June.

That was much better. 21 players out there who attacked the ball and put in for the full four quarters. Parry set the scene early. Sumner was terrific at half back. Somehow Godden needs to get the players putting that effort in every week and perhaps the Eagles can claw their way back into the season. Must win against Sturt next week and then a couple of weeks off to reassess and recuperate.

Obviously a relief to keep our season alive.
Doesn't mean a helluva lot unless we back it up next week.

Feel for the South supporters though. A great chance to solidly establish themselves in the five, and leave the lower clubs behind. It was never going to be a "highlight" win like the last two weeks, but the grinding sort you don't really remember at the end of the year, and they couldn't come up with the goods.

Poor kicking is poor football. Very costly misses. Eagles got three coast to coast goals from behinds.

Very dissapointing considering the chance to four games clear of them. Eagles perhaps to get the season somewhat back on track.

Firstly I'd like to say that South have improved their lights from our night game last year .It was much easier to watch the game last night .

Eagles looked better from the first bounce .Parry was on song and it was great to have two ruckman in the team finally(instead of a fullback playing as a ruck) !!!
Eagles were prepared to move the ball quickly while south appeared to be playing that stop start game of footy .South were shocking in the first term 3 frees in the forward fifty equaled 3 shots on goals from 30 metres out .Resulted in 3 points scored .Not saying the frees weren't there , I think they were .But the goal kicking was shocking by south not certain why the south forwards couldn't kick through the ball :? .
After half time it was a different game when South woke up it was to little to late .

Hopefully this will finally get the Eagles season going .Did South play the Eagles into form or did the had fought loss against the Dogs wake up the 2011 flag winners ?

We thought it was definately the Dogs game that has snapped us out of the funk and given a few new players the feel for whats required at the top level of this league (some established ones needed reminding ). One team is going to have to stand up to Norwood later this year and who knows it still could be us.

There was a South idiot going past me at the Northern end in his car and yelled that we were s***, I think that he is regreting saying that as South won 1 flag in 1964 and have done nothing in the 48 years since.
