Jason baylis was fantastic in the Bays win, he rucked tirelessly all game and could barely scratch himself after the game. It was a good game of footy and certainly a big win for Encounter. I think they havent won at Willunga for 8 or 9 years.
No one is getting ahead of themselves though.

Special mention to Dave Sanders mark with one minute to go in the match. He marked and then was crashed into fairly, but it was a big hit and he was carried from the ground. Very gutsy.

agreed bayliss was very good for the bays. he and steele probably drew even on the day. that mark was very gutsy and basically the last play of the day was very leo barry like without being a hanger. great courage.
encounter bay missing any key players?
i see jagodnik has gone to play at jervois!

willunga were missing seven walk up starts on saturday and will be close but without thommo they are just one tall short of where they were last year. anything can happen on any given day tho.
how did you go saturday limb? were strath that bad?

Strath were 2nd to the ball a lot and never really got going. Nathan Duffield got sent off for the match early in the game for a late hit (it didn't look like there was a lot in it) so they were always gonna struggle from then on. I think the Hawks were about 80 points up at half time so the second half was a bit more even. I was surprised to see Strath name Walsh in their best players because I thought he was completely outplayed by Matt James in the ruck.

Its good to see Walshy in the best players for Strath, great bloke, works hard on the footy field, loves a drink and loves wearing fishnet underwear.

Encounter Bay have a couple of players still to come into the side.

Bj mate, Willunga hardly dominated what was a tight affair. Neither team played there best footy, the Bays lead at every change but seemed to spend snipets of there game with the foot off the pedal which allowed Willunga to come in and out of the game.

The Bays were missing Cahill, Philp and Klenner, had Heuskes on one leg from the previous week, Agius tore a groin in second term, Frank was on one ankle, Baylis had no-one to ruck with and further to the point the bays had ten new players to the club line up on the day for their second game together. Throw in the fact Stokes didnt decide to play till half time and then maybe the bays can have some excuses - if they lost the game.

It comes down to what happens on the day, great game of footy to watch with some superb team and individual efforts

He isnt getting half of what you would think he is on.

Played very well in Round 1, seemed to have two blokes jumping against him all day on Sat.
Kicked one great goal from the boundary, after he stole it from some lady sitting in the front row.

Myponga, who were tipped to be on eof the biggest improvers have so far struggled. Is this due to a group of new players not playing well together yet, or are they lacking in certain spots and being exposed by other clubs? Obviously being flogged by Langhorne Creek is something most teams will have to put up with throughout the season but losing to Mount Compass as well, what are there chances this week away to the unknown Encounter Bay?

Linc Rogers would have to be bout 32 as well and at the end of his career. Mainly played B grade in Southern last two years. Still will be a handy pick up.

Mate I dont play footy - Im a supporter 8)

Personally I've heard that Stokes is on big coin and thats coming from his mouth but I can tell you he is simply saying that to throw people off - it also might help should he change clubs next year etc.

Coming from the President Stokes is not on big coin at all, regardless, so what?

P.S This isn't young Rigney under a different name is it.....

Young Rigney? Who is that? Just thought id throw in there that i know him for evidence sake as ive heard from a friend of a friend.

But seriously - If EB were paying him alot of money, it would be worth it. The bloke is a freak when he is on and having kicked 14 goals in 2 rounds proves he is worth the money.......

Ahh the ol friend of a friend
Yeah thats cool, he is a gun and should've chosen to go on and play higher football when he had the chance. Possibly the most elusive player and best pair of hands for a guy of his size I have seen.

Moving on boys - any tips for the week ahead? Lets get em in before the paper 'kiss of death' comes out!
