I got one of those Chrissco 'beers of the world' packs for Christmas

Hieneken - overrated? Never not a bad drop that one.
Carona - Not bad but I don't have any bloody lemons.
Stella - Doesn't travel well? Drink faster. Like Stella but yeah better on tap like everything else
Becks - Not too bad, better than the Belgian and Italian offerings
Ashashi (Japan) - A surprisingly good drop that one
Perroni (Italy) - Drinkable but not outstanding
Hoegaarden (Belgium) - Too bloody fruity. Reminded me of a West Coast Cooler. The only one I didn't really like.
There was another one but I drank em all - Like Corona and gawnski

What a way to kick off Festivus. Got a heap of Boags as well GEAR.

Interesting REB, I actually like both Asahi DB and Peroni (Nastro Azzuro, not Leggera which is bland.)
Others I like are Dortmunder DB, Tiger, and Verhoek from South Africa.
I agree Heineken is very ordinary, as is Anchor - another Dutch derived product common in SE Asia.
The only beer I ever didn't finish was a Tsing Tao.

UK beers vary - while I was over there I had some good ones at local pubs.
They don't seem to travel well...

Went down to the local saturday arvo, and they had a large amount of Tooheys New in a fridge (about thirty stubbies).

Me and a mate liked the price ($3.50 each), so we hoed into them...

The barman was fairly happy we were getting through them, and just as we got to the last two (a few hours later obviously) a barmaid came in and asked us why we were drinking the out of date beer...

Drinking another fantastic offering from the gents at James Boags call Boags Pure, nice fresh lager, superb summer beer!

Pseudo rates the Matilda Bay mixed 8-pack

The local bottlo didn't have the particular beer I was after, so on a whim I picked up the Matilda Bay mixed 8: 2 each of Fat Yak, Beez Neez, Redback and Big Helga. Drunk all of these before, at some time in the past. Drinking them all together gives a relative appreciation of them all.

Redback: I am not a fan of wheat beers. This notwithstanding, the Redback is at least drinkable. Got a vague wheaty taste, but not overpowering. 4/10. Footnote: No I didn't shove a lemon down the neck of the bottle - this is for poonces who cannot handle the taste of beer.

Beez Neez: Another wheat beer, though this one is somehow infused with honey. The honey does a good job of disguising the fact that you're drinking a wheat beer. However the palate is surprisingly dry, given that it's supposed to be tasting vaguely of honey, and in fact relatively tasteless. 6/10.

Big Helga: A "Munich Dry Lager". Not bad, does a good job of emulating standard German swill like DAB or Lowenbrau. Does not compare to the better German beers. 7/10.

Fat Yak: Pale Ale. Hoppy and flavoursome. Leaves the other three beers for dead. Not unlike Cascade Pale in style, but much fuller in flavour. One of the best beers in the nation to call itself a Pale Ale. 9/10.

Dr Tims at the moment is my drink of choice. They chill quickly and when dispensed into a cold glass, get drunk-en even quickerer!

Went out to a 50th last night with a wine tasting theme, there was also 3 varieties of McLaren Vale Beer there.

VALE/IPA (Indian Pale Ale) a bit too sweet for my liking, 1 was enough, struggled with the 2nd, I can see why some would like it though

VALE/DRK (American Dark Larger) I've never been a fan of dark beers, this one didn't change my mind

VALE/ALE (Australian Pale Ale) I could get used to this one, I quite enjoyed it (enough to be feeling pretty average this morning)

Agreed Vale anything from the tap goes well. Vale Ale prob still my fave, and Vale Dark in the cooler months.

I think the Port Dock Hotel used to have something called "Old Preacher" on tap.
A friend took me there and bought me one years ago - it wasn't bad as I recall.

Drank Little Creatures Bright Ale all night Saturday night at a wedding, went down a treat.

Also took a trip down to the McLaren Vale Beer Co. a couple of weeks ago, any beer lover should go at least once.
