Rnd 7 - South v Eagles @ Hickinbotham Oval (Fri N 4/5)

Postby Big Phil » Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:59 am

The Panthers finally broke their home game hoodoo last week against the Maggies and are in pretty good form at the moment. The Eagles, as we know, are sitting at the bottom without a win but had some improvement against the Dogs on ANZAC Day.

The Reigning Premiers will be hoping for the return of Craig Parry to lead the ruck while the Panthers will go into this game with a couple of more injury concerns with Tom McNamara and Peter Rolfe. Will be a good game I reckon, that could go either way.

Injuries starting to mount up for the Panthers while the Eagles start getting some of their injured back, just our luck!

Why - is Craig Parry going to run around head-butting all our young kids again?

We can both blame the headbutting on his previous club PORT but that would be untrue, Craig is just a people person at heart who does his best work up close and in tight ;)

In a matter of two selections the Eagles go from having close to the worst ruck combination in the league to now possibly having the best ruck combination in the league.

Looking forward to this. Must win or season over. Good to have Parry and Redden back which in turn means Grieger goes back to Full Back and we have another tall option up forward if needed. The team looks much better for it. Will Lewis play reserves?

Agreed that it looks a lot better side on paper, but we have to put it into action on field which we haven't been able to do all season. I still think this will be a close game rather than a rout.

South

In: Otten, Moyle, Brooksby, Casley, Redden
Out; Rolfe (hip), McNamara (knee), Dodwell (omit)

Brooksby & Otten named in 18, the other 3 on the extended bench. Surprised Miller wasn't brought in for Rolfe.
