Bastaris spent the night in hospital after he collapsed.
Jonas will be a few weeks not too serious.

Wasn't it because he was hit in the head by a stray ball in the warm up and was dazed throughout the night?

Norwood impressive, a 10-15 goal better side than us, the scoreboard flattered us.

Norwood have the premiership for this year absolutely wrapped up barring a ridiculous amount of injuries. They make any play of Centrals in the last 15 years look ordinary IMHO.

I marveled at Norwood's game when it was at its best, if they could maintain their best over 4 quarters they would knock off some AFL side s and not just GWS or the Gold Coast.

I actually thought North did OK considering how good their opposition was.

Wedgie get your hand off it and stop thinking about your past when a Redleg man !!!

They would get flogged by GWS and the Gold Coast.

Thoughts from the game (bearing in mind I'm paying more attention to my mob than the opposition):

- Odd atmosphere .. Healthy crowd in attendance but thought the mood was rather subdued.
- Thought we looked pretty well drilled, but made enough mistakes to think we can improve on that performance quite a bit .. We were pretty efficient though so a good foundation.
- Thought North's intensity, particularly early was better than ours but perhaps waned when they didn't get the scoreboard reward to match their efforts, whereupon we steadied and took the initiative.
- Allan is a gut running freak. Was pretty relieved to see him pick up a few possies in the backline, but then bugger me when North made the transition he'd usually be up the other end right amongst it.
- Thring is a classy player and Lewis Johnstone (sp?) continues to impress me.

Still a lot of unknowns for us this season - Will the ageing bodies of Warren and Jericho see the season out? Will we still have the services of Brown, Phillips, Jonas and co. at the business end of the year if we make it? Will our lack of depth in ruck be exposed? (I reckon that one is a near certainty at some stage)

Hopefully just a strain is the initial prognosis.
