Went to my first Sturt game since they pumped the Eagles last yearand enjoyed it even though we didnt get the chocolates. I thought Sturt have been further ahead at the half. Glenelg went forward only a few times in the second and converted their few opportunities. They just wanted it more in the second half, players were putting in the effort and were getting the rewards. As was mentioned before I didnt think Sturt went to sleep Glenelg just turned it on and Sturt couldnt go with them.

4-1, good start, and where we should be given who we've played. still can't understand all the gloomy predictions at the start of the year, as i stated on a previous thread our squad is far stronger than last years (cranston and t grima excepted).
backline playing together well and taking alot of strong marks from opposition kicks - though going the defensive punch might be better sometimes! perfect time to play noord, should be a big crowd at the parade next friday. good stuff tonight tiges

Not one Glenelg fan has said he is a crap player, look back thru the posts. Dedja made a fair point that he can get a lot of possessions that dont hurt oppositon, he can also do the opposite regularly. Sometimes it is like 2 different players, thats him. That being said Id still love him to be wearing black and gold, and you cant blame us for being a bit shitty how it all happened.

The positive of Ben leaving is Tom Holmes is becoming a more than adequate replacement and maybe if he stayed we wouldnt have had the $ to recruit Davenport who's aggression and tackling has been very important for us so far.

Yep it speaks volumes about us last year, and to think we made the finals when four other teams didn't says even more about those sides.

I miss Benny, he's top bloke and gave his all for our club why he was there. I'll remember that about him not how he left. Of the four ex-Bays players at Sturt he is the only one that would make our league side ATM.

Ty Allen sensational tonight.

AS Dedja said we've beaten noone really this year so really (apart from the Eagles game) we are we we should be at. Next two weeks are interesting 'Legs and Dogs away well tell us how we are travelling.

Well said re Ben.

Ty Allen super footballer to watch, hard as nails and so tough to tackle. To my eye Davenport is a touch too arrogant and more focussed on his own game, if he becomes more selfless and team oriented he will do a lot of damage.

Very disappointing effort last night, again our marking is terrible as is our pathetic attempts to tackle and mark an opposition player. Well done to Glenelg, played a lot of direct fast moving footy.

Have to admire the courage of Glenelg in cleaning out the dead wood and starting again. Seems to have paid off with players wanting to give all for the jumper.
Should be a good game next week against the Redlegs.

Whether he made the right decision or not joining Sturt can only be answered by him. If he was sick of the coach and sick of the club, then he's made the right decision regardless of how either club performs. No one wants to go to work and hate the environment, you'd rather earn less elsewhere but be happy.

If on the other hand he left hoping he'd win more games, then that could prove to be a big mistake. However, it's early days, I picked the Bays to come last this season, at 4-1 that's looking less likely, but there's 15 games to go.

Certainly insuating he is crap , no doubt .

Whats with the blue strip on the side of the Sturt guernseys last night? Look like training jumpers. The normal Sturt guernseys on the 18s today looked much better.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
