As I said, one team was match hardened and the other wasn't. 2 byes in 5 rounds doesn't help.

Pity the rematch is in f****** August!

Can hardly wait!

Yeah I thought Glenelg played well ,they seem a bit hung on things for being the victor. Oh well , it is April .

For the Bays, McGinty was fantastic ... leading possession winner apparently, and dominated the rucks.

Tenace has a strong return after coming back from injury, Holmes, Agnew, Milne, Allen and Matt Snook were all very good.

Button will be be a big in when he gets back from injury, and hopefully Ben Kennedy is not too far away.

I hope Lyons gets a game with the Crows ... Will be a shame if he doesn't get a game at all this week.

Well done Bays- really happy we bounced back from last week.

Bays firsts defeated Bays 2nds.

How did crowd favourite Hitchy go?

Hitchy was great, love how Holmes is developing as the season goes on.

And Dedj Lyons has been named to make his debut, well deserved.

LOL, just when everyone is about to go off about him, he kicks a goal (usually out of his rectum).

May need to work a tad on his defensive action and going in for the ball ...

The Power are bastards for teasing by naming him in their squad only to release him again.

Picking on you ? It's not school mate .Like you say play on.It's good when favourites aren't played hey. ;)

Well played Glenelg again and Hithcock was good with 4 .Kirkby was just too good and very tough to handle as well.

Agreed, but what do you expect from a rubbish club.

First term... Glenelg average, Sturt average.

Second term... Glenelg average, Sturt average.

Third term... Glenelg excellent, Sturt ridiculously poor and spooner-like.

Last term... Glenelg decent, Sturt somewhat competitive.

To me the game just showed that Glenelg are good enough to beat the bottom half of the league, should have the talent to make the finals, which is completely out of character to what I was expecting from them this season.

For Sturt, a particularly poor performance in one quarter made the entire night a waste.

Bottom 3, what does that mean? Could mean 7th, which might not be too bad, I'm more interested in whether the players are happy to finish bottom or whether they really want to push themselves and try and make 5th.

I at least expect effort if not skill... I didn't see anything remotely like effort in the 3rd. I wouldn't be surprised if they come out and win next week against North, it could be a topsy turvy season for a number of clubs.

I know Bays fans are ticked off that Ben Kane left... certainly understand that, but saying he's a crap player is really a slight against your own club, he won Glenelg's B&F and if he's a cheap possession getting hill billy, then it doesn't say much for the rest of the team that he was clearly your best player last season.

Whether he made the right decision or not joining Sturt can only be answered by him. If he was sick of the coach and sick of the club, then he's made the right decision regardless of how either club performs. No one wants to go to work and hate the environment, you'd rather earn less elsewhere but be happy.

If on the other hand he left hoping he'd win more games, then that could prove to be a big mistake. However, it's early days, I picked the Bays to come last this season, at 4-1 that's looking less likely, but there's 15 games to go.

The Bays have surprised a few, but haven't beaten anyone who will threaten this year.

That said, 4-1 isn't a bad start after being universally nominated for the spoon.

The next 2 weeks will help answer some questions.

Agree completely with your assessment, except for the above. I would have rated Sturt as above average in the second term; just that little bit better and cleaner than Glenelg in the marking contests, in disposal, and in endeavour.

Yep it speaks volumes about us last year, and to think we made the finals when four other teams didn't says even more about those sides.

I miss Benny, he's top bloke and gave his all for our club why he was there. I'll remember that about him not how he left. Of the four ex-Bays players at Sturt he is the only one that would make our league side ATM.

Ty Allen sensational tonight.

AS Dedja said we've beaten noone really this year so really (apart from the Eagles game) we are we we should be at. Next two weeks are interesting 'Legs and Dogs away well tell us how we are travelling.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
