Thats a surprise. Fell asleep at half time and thought Sturt had the match under control.

On saw the 2nd half and that was great! Feel Sturt went to sleep a touch, would love to see the 3rd 1/4 stats, Sturt hardly touched it, 8 goals to nil.

Pretty happy, esp for a nice return to the Bay for Ben Kane 8)

Sturt bottom 3 from what I saw tonight, huge test for the Bays next week

I wouldn't put Kane under the spotlight from 1 game , it's a pity supporters have this mentality . He was a great player and much loved whilst at the Bay and he chose to move on due to his reasons. He probably thought the club would continue to under achieve.

Glenelgs 3rd quarter deserves credit ,I thought they were very good.Sturt were insipid but there was a reason Sturt didn't touch it and that's because Glenelg were too bloody good .

I don't think Sturt went to sleep or stopped I just think Glenelg are more hungrier this year due to the indifferent season last year . Some Sturt players need to pull their heads out of their bum and watch how Glenelg moved the ball and were prepared to work to find space.

They played some wonderful attacking footy at times and were also hard at it when needed .

Sturt bottom 3 , don't think so . Not sure we will get that high from what I have seen in the last 2 weeks. Very disappointed.

Great crowd but the 5800 figure is surely wrong , looked over 7000 to me and maybe more.

Weird game of footy. Take away the third qtr scores and Sturt win. That was abysmal.

Couldn't help but notice that one team was more match hardened than the other tonight. Congrats to the Bays. They can play stunning football in patches.

Sturt we certainly on top going into half time ... they were running harder and more effiicient up forward, capitalising on a couple of turnovers to score goals.

Then bang, the Bays completely dominated the 3rd to kick 8 goals to zip, hunting in packs, hitting the man with the ball hard and were much more potent up forward. Sturt in the end panicked and were bustled off the ball and their skills fell away.

Sturt are easily bottom 3 on tonight's effort and I think still a chance to collect another spoon.

Of the ex-pats, only Duldig did anything of note, with Kane and Hinge very quiet.

The real test begins in the next 2 weeks with away games against Norwood and Central.

Didn't see the first term.

Second term, Sturt with more run, switching play well. Complete howler from the ump at Snout's Hill end, gifted a goal to Sturt #3 (Cubillo?) from a WRONG high tackle call. Despite this Sturt was pretty much on top.

Third term Glenelg blew Sturt off the park. Sturt looked limp and insipid. Only the bloke who played on Kirk could hold his head high (seriously - well played by this bloke, would have rated him best for Sturt, whoever it was). Every other Glenelg player was dominant. Kirkby prominent up forwards, Milne racking up the stats.

Fourth term more of the same. The intensity dropped towards the end. Glenelg might have prevented Sturt's last couple of goals, but kudos to the Blues for playing the game out.

John Hinge is a joke. If Sturt had played him in the midfield - the reason he transferred to Sturt in the first place - then he'd have been of far greater value than he was in Sturt's backlines, insofar as he couldn't have turned the ball over and gifted the Tigers goals.

Of the Bays players to move to Sturt I have and will always wish Duldig and Panozzo well, but Hinge and Kane can go and get ... especially Ben Kane.

He wasn't prepared to do the hard yards and whilst still very early in the season, tonight's effort showed that Massie's strategy of only accommodating those that will do hard work and bleed for the club has payed off.

You chose very poorly Ben.

No that was too high . He was going down to get the ball and was way too high.

The second bold point , yes . Did the Bays counter offer Sturt ? No . Can't say anymore on that though.

Ben Kane can tend to pick up lots of possessions without hurting the opposition .. tonight was no different.

Yep I think bottom right now but things may turn I just can't see it .

With all due respect Kane has been preety good for us so far . Still disappointed with Duldig, bastard too the last steak sandwich at halftime.
