The fake lace-up look on Port's guernseys is terrible.

My, what a boatload of differing opinions....

Simple design and some balance of colour = GOOD.

Ergo Glenelg, West, North, Central all have fine guernseys.

Ain't nothing wrong with South's either, but some white piping around the armholes would improve the colour balance.

A little more red would improve Norwood's. The "alternative" guernsey is almost perfect; only problem is the inverted-colour NFC logo is a little hard on the eyes. If the logo had been rendered in white then this would be superb.

Have never been fond of Port's. Simple stripes would suffice.

Eagles guernsey would be fine, but the position of the Eagle logo ruins the bands. Shrink the eagle logo and stick it on one side of the chest.

That leaves Sturt. Nothing wrong with the design per se, but the particular shade of light blue borders on the effeminate, being surpassed in latent queerness only when Port Power determined that teal blue was a suitable colour for a football guernsey.

I follow Sturt because of their jumper.

1. Sturt
2. Norwood
3. Port
4. South
5. North
6. West
7. Glenelg
8. Central
9. Eagles

Sturt should return to the shade of blue of their lace-ups.
IMO every SANFL team, bar the Eagles, have great jumpers.
The Eagles should return to their 1993 premiership jumpers.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

So the Geelong style guernsey (and current clash guernsey) that you wore for 2-3 years in the 50s wasn't a change??

And in the early 1900's such as the one the great Dan Moriarty is wearing;

Actually looking at this, there are 6 clear jumper changes...

FYI The guernsey Max Murdy is wearing (sixth from the left) is a State jumper. Yes, I reckon there has been at least six if you count the current design as one even though it's had at least a couple of font changes.

That hooped one that Westies had a few years back looked alright.

And Glenelgs jumper would better if the colours were hooped or vertically striped.

Latent queerness...what a fruity phrase. Utter cobblers of course, but very, very amusing

The vast majority of South jumpers have supported the SA logo in some form on the front of the jumper. Premiership side of the 1930's had it large and proud. For small periods we had a hooped designed but was considered by many South supporters over many years not reflective of our club as the SA logo clearly and strongly represents SAFC which is why this design has outlasted any other.
This years hooped design alternative is rubbish and is to placate a new sponsor whose corporate colours could not be clearly seen on last years alternative jumper where the intergrity of the gurnsey was maintained by simply reversing the colours.

I also rate guernseys on the basis of whether I'd be prepared to be seen in them.
Simple and traditional for me, nothing garish - so I like Norwood's standard one...

Jumpers are an other issue - I do have a couple in traditional Scandinavian styles, but you do need to wear plain trousers with those.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

I disagree. With the modern day trend of changing guernseys like underwear to satisfy the latest blow-in ( and typically ) blow-out sponsors whim anything that can be done to show some form of tradition is welcome in my book. Sure, guernseys dont change as such for a sponsor but the appearance can change. ie Gliderol...

Agreed. It borders on ridiculous. Why not spray some fake dirt on it too and some fake stitching around the sponsors emblem and numbers.

What a surprise...I'm shocked.

x2. I had initial misgivings about the whole "Miss Venezuela" look to the sponsor's name on the sash, but it has proven to blend in a whole lot better than the old sponsor patches which used to stand out like dog's bollocks.

Having said that, none of the league team patches ruined the guernsey half as much as a certain sponsor of the Under 18s....

Oh, and the best sponsor's ensign ever to grace the Glenelg guernsey was the fiirst Associated Midland logo. Perfect.
