I don't think Chris will be rested from the side, considering the Dogs have the bye next week and will have an 18 day rest before their next game against Glenelg. I think this will be one of the rare games this season where both Chris and James Gowans play in the same side, prior to finals - should Central qualify.

Yeah but is it physically possible for Chris at 34(?) to have recovered from a tough slog in the wet within 4 days, especially considering another wet game is expected.

The Glenelg game is a mute point if he hasnt recovered from saturdays game.

I'd be very surprised if Chris Gowans doesn't play tomorrow mate...

I definatly hope he plays!!!!!!! Perfect player for the weather conditions!

If his not right to go tomorrow he wont play no matter how many days rest it is to the next game.

Bigger picture though. If his body is sore and tight is Roy going to pick him putting injuries at a lot greater risk.

If he has some form of minor injury that could turn into a strain* or tearm then, yes, he will be rested...

But if it is just 'general soreness' he has then the fact that it is ANZAC Day will mean too much for him to not play and he will line up, as I expect, because he then has that 18 day break to rest up any soreness or niggles...

I get what you are saying whufc, but Chris pulled up* okay from Saturday so I'm fully expecting him to play tomorrow with James...

I am confident we will get more than that, especially given the sunrise has given us a day with some blue sky and minimal signs of rain.

Despite our poor form I am confident that most Eagles fans will to the right thing by the occassion (first ANZAC Day game at Woodville) and honour the veterans involved with their presence.

I expect many Central fans will do the same and the Dogs are in prime position for a great effort.

It is a stand alone public holiday with little else on (except AFL Collingwood v Essendon)
and the SANFL game is not televised.

As alluded to in other threads we have done a lot of work promoting to specific groups around Woodville (again because it is the first time we have hosted the game here).

So with good weather I am hoping we can achieve our best Woodville crowd since 2000.

Time will tell.

Grocke needs to play at CHF where he can be a threat with his workrate and aggression as the ball is too often out of his area, while Raymond and Macca need to help out onball for obvious reasons. Today could be Bock's last chance and I wish him well though I fear he just is'nt up to it unfortunately, SANFL ruckmen still need decent bodies and he does'nt have one :( Eagles can't win this one as their confidence is shot, but really should show much greater pride than last week  Dogs by 41pts.
