Players like this are like disease. Before it spreads move them on and back the coach. On the other hand, I would make them sit out until replacements can be found.

Tailem Bend..... what can I say after a 12 goal loss other than .....Mmmm

Rumour has it Tailem threatened to not pay a contracted player on Saturday night after he got injured early in the game....? Apparently R Love only played to secure his rent money and is a certainty to follow his bro before june 30..

Whats going on out there?! Are we talking..... Crisis?

Typical Tailem at it best .want want want.but if they can get of paying they will, clubs budget for recruits x 16 games so if they get injured it's part of the deal.Tailem would want to start recruiting now for next year because those blokes will all go somewhere with Clyde

Its my understanding that it was the players want, want, wanting MORE! & what did you mean by the statement "Its part of the deal", surely your not advocating that if a player is injured he still gets payed, just because the club has budgeted him playing that game? Maybe I'm mis-reading your post?
Have also heard that Tailem were segregated at 3/4 time against Mypo & it wasn't a Forward/backs/midfield type. Any truth to this?

Completely agree it is players want want want. Give the committee a break they have back there coach & there local playing group. Tailem should stand its ground & hold these players to ransom if they want to break contracts they need to be accountable. It is players that are crippling clubs not the volunteers trying to support the clubs for the future of there junior players. The only player that was injured saturday was Michael Sumner & he didn't line up.

Goldberg, surely you're not saying that if a player gets injured in the 1st quarter of a game, he should not be paid? That my friend is 'part of the deal' and I would love to see a player still involved with a club (or even sign with one) that shares this philosophy. Barring any misconduct on the players behalf, such as carrying an injury into the game etc.

Yeah i agree here Bazza. Although in a lot of cases ive seen the players refusing the cash when injured they are well within their right to get paid. Unless as stated they take in an injury and that changes things.

If it happens within a game, then by all means that player has every right to be paid. I was talking about not playing yet still getting payed. As I stated, I was unsure of the wording of BBK's post. I couldn't agree more with your post

Yep, fair enough, valid point and I agree re injured players (not within game play) not being paid. Myself, I have not heard of any player receiving 'injury payments' and it would be a sad day in country football if that were to eventuate.

Unfortunately its just a matter of time before this happens. I can just see it now, your own club and another club are fighting for the services of a gun player, both clubs have already offered say 2k a game plus sign on fees that are equal, so what will get that player over the line to play for your club??
Fairly obvious that a guarenteed pay packet regardless if he's injured or not will get the deal done

Surely there is more to talk about on this forum than the over inflated egos of a couple of players in a team that will finish bottom. Why not talk about the superb starts to the season by Ramblers, Mannum or Mypolonga who all look capable of pushing the preseason favourites.

Point taken. I would hope, if this were to happen, that it is the exception of a few and not the 'rule'.

McLoed & Motlop were very good. Not sure how they will go when McLoed doesn't play as his class was very evident

I would suggest McLeod is worth almost goals a game - saving and setting up. He is just as fit and has put on 8-9kg of muscle since his AFL days, and tears apart players that aren't up to his standard - that is everyone else.

Motlop and Elijah worth a few goals each, but no where near the impact of Bunji.

If they scrape into Finals, he will play and be influential - if they scrape into finals.

Is McLeod Lining up agains't Mannum this week??
