A few of the TV players may not be as happy if he pulls out as the number 1 supporter at the end of this year ....

bring in 10-12 very highly paid recruits and win a few a-grade games each year. at the same time the tv junior teams struggle for numbers and suffer constant thrashings in central division. in round 1 the tv junior teams lost by a combined 66 gls to 4 gls, while yesterday is was 48 gls to 7 gls.

i'm not convinced this is the way to run a club.

From what I saw of the uraidla lofty game i don't believe the demons will be the powerhouse of previous seasons a young and undermanned lofty outfit out ran them for 3 qtrs would have been a closer game if it was a dry deck !

caught the first half of the bridgewater v hahndorf game on saturday, followed by the second half of onkas vs blackwood.

onkas v blackwood was a surprisingly high standard game given the slippery conditions. onkas were untidy in front of goal and should have probabaly won by 5 goals. hats off again to chris shee for another top effort. arguably the best hills footballer in wet conditions. blackwood are not the team of previous years.

bridgewater were very dissapointing and didnt show any signs of improvement from 2011. so much for the talk that they had recruited well and would be more competitive. hahndorf were in complete control from the first bounce, with their midfield unchallenged. raiders will struggle to win a game in 2012, and will get pumped by lofty this weekend.

i hope youre correct about it being a close game. i was hoping that bridgy would be more comepetitive this year. the first round result vs uraidla sounded promising. maybe they just had a bad day. not sure why bown didn't play, maybe he's injured.

as for tv, think they will finish 6-8.

They have played 2 teams that did not make the finals last year and have not been convincing they are semi retired Footballers who will be shown up a big dry decks ! I know for a fact they are worried about nursing there older players through the season !

Great call about Chris Shee, he is one of the hardest working and honest players in the competition in all weather conditions.
In my top 3 along with Nunan and Loffler.
For honesty and hard working over the past 5 years they are the best 3 I think!

I'd put Brad Burch in that category! He puts that titanium skull of his where most wouldn't put their hand- on a scary regular basis. Never gets much love (votes) from the umps but 4 (?) b and fs says it all

I reckon Shee is one of the most important players in the leauge. His hard work quickly turns him from a big marking forward to a tough midfielder, always hated playing against him!

How convincing do you need to be!! You don't win premierships in April. Ask the boys from cabbage cutter land. Think they'll be around the mark again. Mt Barker the team to beat IMO.

T Edwards, Stanborough, P Richards (2 Alec Parker Medals, I think) and the list goes on... have to be up there. Agree with Nunan, he would probably be number ONE over the last 5 years IMO.
