That's the only thing I can remember where he erred, it wasn't a bump ball though, he dropped it and then gathered it in.

Correct. That incident occurred in 'that' match in 94/95 when Bevan pretty much single-handedly won us the game and ironically hit Harper for 4 off the last ball. :D Reiffel also played an important role in that innings too IIRC.

My vote for the World Knobhead XI

Atherton
Ganguly (vc)
Kallis
Miandad
Hodge
Ranatunga (captain)
Flintoff
Healy (wk)
Harbhajan
Steyn
Sreesanth/MacGill (depending on whether or not you play the second spinner)

I wouldn't have Atherton in, but Chris Broad would be a contender for sure. As would Boycott perhaps although hypocritically I didn't mind listening to his commentary.

John Bracewell would be right up there, as would Geoff Lawson, MacGill and Haddin.

An interesting XI would be the "Scott Muller XI" for blokes who couldnt bat or bowl yet still managed to play Test Cricket.

The bowling attack would look like

Scott Muller
Andrew Mullally
Darren Sammy
Peter Such

Steve can't get on this list if bump ball catches get you out of it. There was one in the West Indies in 1995 which bounced nearly a metre in front of him.

One I'm listening to commentate in the background as I type.

Of course. It stands to reason. The rest of you lot aren't good enough to make the side.

Have a read about Don Bradman, he gets my vote. It was once said about him that 'Don will get what he wants out of cricket, a lot of money but not many friends'. Of course many players are jealous of his unparalleled ability and his aloof personality didn't exactly win his team mates over either. Always interesting to read anything by Fingleton, Miller and O'Rielly. I think there was some Church of England v Catholic type of stuff going on back then as well.

More recent players hard to go past Javed Miandad one of the best shitstirrers ever. Harbhajan and of course Symcox, Grieg and Ganguly. I'd also suggest that these blokes (along with Pieterson and Flintoff) actually play with that Australian 'arrogance' hence their proliferation in this thread.

Whitney?? Can't have that carey here was a bloke that had limited ability but busted his arse. He played a key role in winning the Test series that convinced Border to stick around and he burst on to the scene at a really tough time during the ill fated 1981 tour of England. Yeah Gladiators was bullshit but Mike Whitney wasn't.

And they all wouldn't share a dressing room with Hodge who has cracked the shits because Arjuna got the captaincy.
