Hmm interesting Ron, I actually think you are very wrong about a few of those names being in doubt next week.

Also, very interesting free kick count at the Lofty game in the A's!

mate this is what i was told by a couple players straight after the game and some of them are in alot of doubt.

someone in lofty may want to clear a little rumour up that burch was offered captaincy this year but knocked it back?

B.Pearce lazy 50+ possessions, 7 goals. N.Pearce didn't see the ball......he was in the backline. K.Pearce was looking for the little ferret from last years prelim, to have a chat, but apparently Gary's moved him on.

I.Silvy $100 a possession and threw a few punches......ordinary day for the Lions.

Yeah, WTF happened to TV? Cougar? That is a genuine genuine touch up.
Let's hope the scorelines don't stay like that all year...
Couldn't get to the Lofty game...I thought they'd belt Mt Ronnie by a lot more...

says a lot for Ironbanks season if milosevic gets best- could be a long year- saw the game Blackwood just a bit steadier- especially in defence. Big bald bloke for Blackwood looked unfit but seemed to stop everything. Katinyeri a bit disappointing- the first time I have seen him- stuff he does is very good, just didn't do enough at key times. Big rumour about was Brad Smith to return?? a Good start for the "Turtles" Blackwood boys.

TV's Pooraka connection didn't play, Fox, Battams were injured early and they're probably not as strong as last year. Kersbrook will improve as the year progresses.

Well yes they did have niggling injuries but i think that only one of those 4 will actually miss next game and even if they all did its not like Lofty are short of talented players at the moment.

Why didn't Fleet kick any goals? Rare for him...
And I saw on the weekend that Bawds has cleverly lured some EP players to Echunga, hence them sneaking under the radar. At least 2 of those recruits are very handy players. Very handy...

If that's true I will eat my own shit.

Funny how for the last 2 weeks, the policy has been that if you don't train or attend the preseason camp, you don't play round 1. This bloke rocks up to Thursday training and he's straight into the A grade. WTF?!!!!

If the policy was that flexible, one thinks poochy should have at least played B's.

A LOT of locals (16) missed out on a game and someone who trains once walks stright into the A's. Doesn't send a good message IMO. I'd be pissed if I was still playing. If I was an U17 coming up and trained all summer, I'd be pissed that this bloke jumped the queue!

Some locals becoming disillusioned!

Go you super B's!

I agree DA poor form I am able to say that did not occur at Ironbank. Smithy turned up Thursday night he did not get a game in either grade. As you say when you have a dozen who have toiled all summer and did not get picked.

Yerah, not fair if blokes have trained. It could be different if Lofty were struggling for numbers or good players, but that's not the case obviously.
So who's gonna kick the goals at Lofty this year? Fleet missed out this week, did he?
And accuracy problems plague the Devs again...

Bit of overkill IMO.

S Madsen - back into the A grade goalsquare where he belongs!

What a forward line: B Gordon, L Fleet, S Madsen

Is that a legit chance. He was a bit slow a few years ago, good kick obviously.
Last year I reckon Gordon worked harder up fwd than Fleet. But that is a handy line up.

Don't know if it's a legit chance. We will probably buy Nathan Ablett for next week, so no!

I think he earned a chance in the 1's last year.

Don't have a full list - would have to handball that one to GetTheSherrin or Spearhed.

The one's I know are Warbo, Poochy, Brooksy, Kieran. There are 12 others apparently.

Echunga

Postby The Sorce » Mon Apr 23, 2007 2:37 pm

With 2 New Eyre P boys playing their first game for Echunga On the Weekend (both getting in the best) and several more quality players spotted watching the game and be signing up this week, is anyone changing their predictions on the Final 5 for the Country League???? This week will be a test for Echunga, to see where they really stand.

I'm not gonna claim that I saw it coming (I in fact had Echunga out of the 5 I think), but I know Bawds, and had a sneaky suspicion that he would have some decent imports lined up. Looks like he has a fair team.
It's early but I'll have them at 3.
