Gillespie
Tait

I'm not suggesting that ALL of these players should be in the team, just that there isn't a lot of difference between the best 25 or so players.

It is disappointing though that none of the SA players (Lehmann, Cosgrove, Gillespie or Tait) and Ponting are playing today. Part of the reason why I'm not at the ground at the moment!

If you don't go to watch Australia because of the lack of Redbacks, I'd suggest you haven't seen all that much international cricket there Ecky.

How anyone could include him in their best ODI side is strange considering he can't even stay fit. IMHO he is so over rated I've had a bet with a mate concerning his performances for Australia starting from Feb 2005 going through to Feb 2007. Australia is not that desperate for an all rounder like Flintoff or Kallis and Watson is not the answer. For the record the terms of the bet are;

Watson has to have played 11 test matches by Feb 2007 and have a batting average of 30 or over in both tests and ODI's. There is a carton of beer v a bottle riding on the outcome. Watson had already played one test at the time the bet was made so he needed to play 10 more. He's lucky that crap Super Test was played!!!!!

I reckon you might be on a winner Frosty as Australia are only playing 5 tests this calendar year, oh and Watson's hella 5hite.

LMAO McGill ahead of Warne. McGill is less accurate and goes for more runs.

My comment are based on current form. McGill has shown the best bowling in his career over the last year - and his economy rate has improved markebly. He gets more turn on the ball than Warne so in a one day situation where the batsman has to go the slog McGill is a good bet to take a wicket. Warne is still the best bowler in a test situation where the batting side can afford to pad up and not take risks.

How can you make a comment based on current form when Warne hasn't played a ODI since 2003 and Magill still doesn't get a gig in the One dayers? Also, turn is the weapon of the test bowler because if it turns too much then wides will be the result. Most observers would take Warne over Magill any day of the week. Sorry mate, I have to disagree with you for a change :D

NcGill has a goodish record in ING cup games, but i think at international level Hogg is your man. He seems to bowl tight and can take wickets. McGill can be a little expensive. Also Hogg has at least some idea of how to hold a bat. McGill pretty much plays the one shot.....
