Those who traded Broughts to Dempsey will be spewing though.

Q - 207 + Sheil + Giles + Chapman

vs

Coniglio + Jacobs + Dangerfield + Suckling

Gonna be a close one!

If Fyfe is out for an extended period and Broughton comes into the middle more as a playmaker his scores will improve. Goddard is a gun but the Saints haven't played anyone yet (Gold Coast let him run free for a start!) so it could prove to be a closer call than you think.

If I'd known Fyfe was going to be out for three months I probably wouldn't have traded out Broughton! Still, not unhappy that I've got Goddard who should have been in my side from the start.

The big question now is who to trade in for Fyfe?!

MILLER MOSQUITOES have drawn first blood in the Hogg Premier League with a big victory that has dumped Hondo on to the bottom of the ladder. finn's racing thebarton is a surprise second on the ladder after defeating the Ginger Ninjas who were the only team not to score 2000 this week. CoverKing has gotten over the line against my Cat Empire to be highly rated and Q will be mighty relieved to see that he is in the top four after the first round. Darksiders dodged the Pendlebury bullet when he had the BlueGunners covgered and Dutchy, sharksta, wycbloods and Hawkeye also won their opening matches.

Already the pressure is on for the bottom six teams in such a tight comp with many coaches scratching their heads (family show) trying to work out what went wrong this week.

My over-priced forward line is causing me grief. Pavlich hasn't hit a ton yet. This week Cloke, Chapman and Martin averaged about 60. In fairness Chappy and Cloke have been good until now but Martin was over-hyped as a must have in hindsight.

I'm thinking of cutting my losses with Martin and using the coin to fix up my underperforming backline. I can't play Morris and Ellis they just don't score enough points.

I am thinking the same REB. For me I need to find a 4th premium midfielder I think. Coniglio is turning out to be a high priced mistake too.

Dusty is due a ton. Surely.

And if Coniglio can get to $350K then he's served his purpose.

Yeah Martin will be giving me a headache all week. If the finances work out well i may be able to get him out for a $150k> forward and use the money to upgrade Redden to Sandilands.

That will be 4 trades down already early on.

Copping it!

Could've been worse too, nearly traded Scotland out for Dempsey, that would've been a disaster!

Long season yet, I've got my rookies right, just missed the mark on a couple of mid-pricers.

Can remedy the situation this week with a couple of trades I think.

Considering i had a 6, 30, 34 and a donut i didn't think 2024 was that bad an outcome.

Just don't know which problems to fix first the forwards or the backs.

Really hope Lake and or Dempsey play this week.

REB, I see you hung onto Wilson. He kicked 6 goals in the Ressies on the weekend and may get the call up again. Kid can play, just probably not going to get heaps of opportunities up forward for GWS.

Premier League Tips Round 2

Squeakeroos DTC v Halem Hawks

Squeakeroos have been outscoring the Hawks all season long but it was the Halem Hawks that earned the first round victory last week as Squeaky was affected by acute Pendleitis. Dr REB says that this condition is a temporary one and that Squeaky can hit back and win his first match for the season. Squeakeroos DTC to win in a close one despite an improved score from wycbloods.

Woody's Dropkicks v Hawkeye

Hawkeye’s runaway start to the season hit a bit of a snag last week with a dip in his scoring and Woodrow arked it up a bit but Hawkeye still scored more points than him. Hawkeye managed the narrow win last week while Woody copped the narrow loss. I can see Hawkeye returning to his earlier patterns of scoring and winning this clash to put the heat on the Dropkicks.

Q Before You v racing thebarton

Both sides were fortunate winners with Q having the same non performers as Squeaky but having enough points up his sleeve and racing thebarton sneaking past a point shy Ginger Ninjas outfit. Q Before You looks to be the more solid line up here and just like last year he looks set for a solid start. Q Before You to win this match and leapfrog thebby on the table.

Captain Who? v Dutchys Dodos

The Captain has struggled a bit this season but the Dodos showed they aren’t yet on the endangered species list after they recorded a narrow victory over the Poon Army who is still cursing Paul Chapman’s lack of scoring last week. The time has come for Captain Who to announce himself as a Premier League coach and I’m tipping him to do this in another close encounter. Captain Who? to salute.

Ginger Ninjas v The Cat Empire

Gingernuts is coming off one of the few scores under 2000 recorded in the Premier League so far this season and runs in to his long term nemesis – Me. The Ginger Ninjas go as well against The Cat Empire as I do in Grand Finals. The fitness or lack of in relation to Fyfe is a key factor for Ginge who has admitted to hitting the trade table this week to rectify some problems. He is not alone on that score however and this will be a close match. The Cat Empire can win this one and continue our traditional ownership of The Ginger Ninjas.

Poon Army v Hondominators YSCC

Hondo finds himself in the unusual position of propping up the Premier League table after the first round as his high price forward line continues to fail to flatter. Both teams need to trade to make something happen in this match and you get the impression that the wheels are pretty wobbly for the Hondominators YSCC at the moment. Both teams will improve but my spidey senses are telling me that the Poon Army can record an important victory.

Don’t Drop Catches v Darksiders SCE

The Cat Empire couldn’t catch Don’t Drop Catches last week despite coach CoverKing making the odd Blue. He’ll need to improve his match day coaching to get over the reigning Premier who dodged a bullet by playing bottom ranked teams in two divisions during a week when Pendles spudded it. As I said earlier I can ‘t see Pendleitis continuing so I’m tipping Darksiders SCE to record a victory in the match of the round at Catchers expense.

MILLER MOSQUITOES v Underdogs

The impressive MILLER MOSQUITOES outfit can make back to back wins against Underdogs who somehow snuck past Cork in the Ocean last week. The Underdogs appear to have a long range strategy in place but MILLERS are here right now and it appears to be Millertime for sure. MILLER MOSQUITOES to win another one and remain unbeaten.

BlueGunners v Cork in the Ocean

The Gunners season started off well with a commendable effort against the mighty Darksiders SCE but they came up short. This could become a recurring theme for this team in this league as they look a bit light on for point scoring talent. Corky, meanwhile should this week get the win that was denied him last week after he was pipped by the Underdogs. Cork in the Ocean to rebound with a win with the Gunners feeling Blue.

One reads the printed broadsheet and adjusts one's side accordingly...

had to sub some off and burn a trade though...

and thank you for the correct pronunciation of the side's moniker.
