Luthies out to a 5 goal lead at the end of the first, pegged back by a good second quarter by BL with the third being a bit of a wrestle back and forth along with the last. BL had their chances to steal a win but didnt capitalise on their set shots and some easy dropped marks around the goal face.

Great game to watch but a very empty feeling at the end.

Miegel....freaking unit. Funny seeing a guy who stands clearly a head above his opponents and is very agile for a man his size.

Got there with 9 or so minutes left in the last, Luthies got 9 points up at one stage, then their own goal umpire didn't make too many friends with a goal call which appeared to sail slightly wide, against Lutheran. I am thinking he wouldn't have been too popular back at the club that night. Lodge had a 3 or so set shots close at the end and couldn't capitalise, Luthies got the last point of the match, Lodge were 60 out with the ball when the siren went.

Sounds like someone is a little bitter. To call the B grade at Glenunga or North Haven atrocious is a pretty bad call. Both sides struggled to hit targets inside 50! But it was a great midfield/defensive battle all day. And at the end of the day the best team won. Glenunga... P.S. I think your mob should start looking for a new umpire. That is all.

A very very disappointing start to the season for us yesterday going down to Glenunga in two close contests by 3 in the B's and 11 in the A's. Both games were quite similar in the way we lead for the majority of the game only to have Glenunga run over the top of us. We looked awsome at times and very poor in others, we had some good run from the back half and middle of the ground at times and our pressure and intensity wasn't too bad. In the B's we probably only played only half a game of decent footy and along with that lapses in contentration let us down badly. The entry into the forward line in the A grade was very good while we struggled with it a fair bit in the B's, especially late in the game. Full credit to Glenunga for keeping with us, then kept on pushing and eventually ran over the top, their A grade looked to be a pretty well balanced side.

Personally I'm absolutely f**king spewing about what happened yesterday, just have to move on now to Fitzroy at home next weekend, really looking forward to making up for yesterday and coming away with a win in both grades.

33 shots to 24 Dols. But we should have lost by 6 goals? Lipson and Forrests straight kicking kept Havens in it imo. Great work from their set shots.
We have no weapons? Damn that sucks

Good luck for the rest of the season also.

Had some good delivery too I thought, not much you or your back pocket playing on Forry could do at times when they were hit up on the lead.

I think you guys have a pretty well balanced side.

Any idea how your ruckman is doing? He got K.O pretty bad.

what was wrong with his umpiring PR, he is a fair umpire. Just wait until you play Glenunga.

He got chatted to by one of us for the abuse we were giving him?? WTF?

I'm not sure how you compare your coach over celebrating a goal and making himself look stupid with a rowdy supporter anyway? You'll always get mouthy supporters wherever you go, but a bloke that's played so much footy should know better

You're welcome Mr Beef, someone had to sort you out ;)

Apparently the new coaches boxes arrived during the week but there was no one there to lock em away so they didn't drop them off.

Your team manager left his clipboard behind with all the HV top secret info in it. If he wants it back someone will have to pm me, alternatively, I will the accept the highest bid from your up coming opposition coaches. ;)

Glenungas B grade really suprised me on Saturday. Not that I was going into it thinking they were easy beats. I knew we'd have a good game on our hands.

If I was there watching the game without any affiliation to either club, that would have been one of the best B grade games Ive seen in recent times. I was in the back pocket for Haven though, so the last quater wasnt a great time for me.

Being round 1, its hard to know where we're at because Glenunga are a bit of an unknown until they've played a few more teams. Our side is young, and hopefully the maturity will come throughout the season, because when it does, we're going to be a great team. Having said that, we arent there yet, and its going to take time.

If you wanna witness a terrible umpire wait till you play Luthies again...There B grade umpire would have to be the worst by a country mile...

Was a cracker game at the BLodge, from what I could take from the game is that BLodge are a very fast running side through the midfield, and this is where Luthies were getting carved up. To much pace around the ball, and Luthies defensive didn't look the best. They certainly had no answer for the big leading forward and the smaller guy who I would of thought kicked 5 or so...However the 2 big forwards that Luthies are playing should stretch most teams (especially those lesser sides)
