Thought it was a pretty entertaining game. Centrals obviously going to be up there when they get all their players back, but South were missing 4-5 of their better players too. Liked the progression/games of Ainger, Miller, Hourigan, McKay and Bass.

South really faded badly, 11 goals to 2 after about 20 mins of third quarter. They seem to be one key defender missing.

Thought the umpiring was really good, umpired in the right spirit, except for the last 25mt penalty to Goodrem that lead to a goal.

Good game of footy. South need two good defenders and a ruckman to really challenge for a top 3 spot. Midfield can match anyone's.

Centrals have 2 tough games before the bye. 1-4?

3 and 2 more like it, they are baaaaack. Despite a couple of topsy turvey quarters, the final result was as expected at the Ponderosa.

I kept a special eye out for Ky Miller and he did not fail to impress. 16 touches, 8 of them in the last term, kicked a goal (could have had a second if he had got a bit more on it in the third term, and got the ball inside fifty, which let Ainger and Hourigan show something up forward.

Cross, Liddle and Murphy are as good as any three going around, but they need more support.

He looked good MP, badly needs to put some meat on those bones though. He could turn sideways and stand behind a goal post and no one would find him

WE HAVE FOUND A KEY FORWARD!!!!!!! We must play another ruckmen now so Hardy can play as a permanent forward. No surprise to see Westoff play half decent when he become the second key forward.

There is still a massive difference between our best and worse football, that needs to be rectified.

Much to Dutchys delight Benny Nason was very close to BOG, while Marchall is something very special, 3 great games in a row for him.

Who was the ruckment/key position player in the ressies who wore number 14. Wasnt in the budget, wasnt Cameron Milne who usually wears the number, wasnt in Central clothing at after match pressos, looked older than 18, looked promising.

Were not back but a win against Port and then we are likely to play the bottom side on ANZAC day.

Agree AK, he never looked to do anything else, even if he half-turned forward or sideways when he first got the ball he would have got away with it

Disappointing result yet again at Elizabeth. Terrible 1st term, played some great footy in 2nd and 3rd before the dogs woke up late in 3rd and blew us away over the last 40 minutes.

As FlyingHigh mentioned the positive from the day was some of the games from the young guys like Hourigan, Miller and McKay. Hourigan has a great pair of hands. Rolfe was pretty lively with 4 goals before drifting out of it late. Liddle and Murphy got plenty of it, Cross also. As did their opponents though.

Not getting much from our new recruits at this stage. Bollenhagen probably the pick of them today, while Houlihan has struggled.

Missing Thewlis along HB hurt, and in general we lack another tall defender and have so for many years now.

How far away is McKernan with his injury? Hopefully Wundke back in a week or two which will help.

Doggies did enough to win, but they still look a fair way from their best. Boyd yet again cut us to shreds :? Nason stood out also. As for "that" free kick, very poor/wrong decision. (going on my view at the ground)

Ronnie would certainly be feeling the heat at 1 and 4...

I thought South put up a good fight for the best part of three quarters. Their last was back to the Panthers of old...heads down, lack of intensity, etc.

Centrals played the ground beautifully. Keeping it wide where we had to chase them. Symes and Boyd stand outs that we seemed to play catch up footy with.
Our defense really worries me. I would love to have Wundke and McKernnan in the forward lines and maybe drop Ainger back to CHB so something like he did last year (just a suggestion) but we dont have them so we really need a tall defender.
The usual suspects in Liddle, Cross busted their guts out today and you could really see the guys at the end of the game hurting. I really felt sorry for them as its always them that seem to be the ones week after week putting their body on the line when others go missing. Total respect these guys and they are the envy of every SANFL club out there.
Stribling looked injured but kept trying.
Bass was solid up forward and week after week his confindence grows.
I also liked the young lad , Miller on his 2nd game and I see a big future with him. Rolfe good today too.
The "big" named recruits have struggled. By now I would have expected a little more from them. I know its early but with their experience I would be hoping for more.
Once again, we had that game by the 3/4 time siren. We did not finish it off like Sturt the other week. Im worried.
We have not played 4 1/4's of good footy so far this year.
To be honest, I would not have thought South would be where they are at the start of the year....not just me but rival supporters too. We are better than this. We were predicted top 5 by many but so far looking at other sides we are no where near this yet.
We need to win this Friday night (versus Glenelg at The Bay) and get as many South supporters out there...even met for a drink before to support them. (I dont want to be the only bloke with a South Scarf at the Holdy!!! )
We need to regroup, focus and get on with it. Its still early so lets hope we can come back from here....see you out there Friday
