Final Seedings

1 Honey Badgers
2 Has Been

5 Cossi's Carnts
6 Les's Men
7 Honda's Heros
8 Boongas Bulldogs
9 slimshady DTC
10 The Spuds

scored 440 from 6 in goodes, giles, hoskin-elliott, tomlinson, shiel and kennedy and left bugg on the pine...

shiel looked classy but with a few frees against and turned it over a couple times then subbed late in 3rd, he will score better with some more game time.

glad i jumped off coniglio, he looks good but not worth the money, i should have dropped hoskin-elliot down to macdonald too and almost did... alas.

2 more starting rookies and all my bench so the plan will be to get 30 players on the park! im feeling confident!!!
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

I was happy with the start from the boys they picked up the game plan in the second quarter and played fairly well. The coach however needs a good talking to as he left a lot of points on the bench.

This game is easy. Even from the other side of the world. Expect the top position to stay that way all year. Premier league here I come :D :D

Well done on the Denver team for round one must be something to do with a Manning signing. ;)
I think though that they need to look at the team structure before they can promote a possible elevation. They will need to rely on the supercoach football gods to ensure Lake improves, Spurr and Walsh actually play games, Cornes can continue to get a spot in the Power team and McIntosh doesn't completely breakdown after last week. ;)

Well the first round of hostilities starts this week. The real one on one battles begin with 4 points on the line. The rookies are still filling our sides and will provide interesting points of difference. However, at this point of the season the real POD’s are the Guns and Gems that people have picked.
I have tried to highlight each Teams POD’s as compared to their opponent below and then make a prophecy of a result based on this.

Some general comments on the squads selected this year for Division 1 are:
Only one player is in 17 of the 18 teams Buddy is not in the Cobras squad though.
10 teams have gone with 2 gun ruckmen and 8 with the 1 plus 3 rookies strategy 7 teams have Kreuzer, 6 have Cox and 5 have Mummy.
12 teams have Fyfe, 2 have Izzy, 14 the Porpoise and Martin and only 2 with Cloke as a forward POD
16 teams have Ablett, 7 Murphy and Selwood, 4 Thompson and Hayes and only 2 with Pendels.
11 teams Delidio, 10 Goddard, 8 Lake, 7 Broughton and only 2 with Scotland and Enright

Predictions

LES'S MEN
POD’s Shaw, Waters, Scotland, Lake, Rockliff, Selwood Parker(?), Mummy + Rookie, Dangerfield, Sidebottom

POD’s Adcock, M. Clarke, Thompson, Cotchin, Gibbs, Cox, Minson, J Roo, R. Gray

The 2 Daniels fight it out with an easy win expected to the Pigs
HAS BEEN

To be beaten by
MARION MANBEARPIGS
POD’s Goddard, Birchel, Waters, Hargrave, Golby, McCarthy, Hayes, Neale (?), Cox, McIntosh, Sidebottom

FOOTYLEDGENS the 2008 Division 1 winner
POD’s Suckling, Fisher, Newman, Priddis, Boyd, A. Swallow, Mummy + Nic Nat, Goodes, Porpoise
To beat
SLIMSHADY DTC the 2010 Premier Division winner
POD’s Birchel, Delidio, Broughton, Lake, Thompson, Murphy, Swan, Mummy + Rookie, Pav

COBRAS
POD’s Grimes, Stratton, Drummond, Ablett, Jack, Murphy, Polec, Dyson, Scully, Ryder, N. Roo, Porpoise, Butcher, Izzy, C. Pearce, Winderlich
To be beaten easily by
COSSI'S CARNTS
POD’s Adcock, Goddard, Newman, Bower, Pendels, Boyd, Cox, J. Roo, Fyfe, Pav, Franklin

BUDDY FRANKLIN
Goddard, Delidio, Shaw, Waters, Malceski, Golby, Ablett, Murphy, Mummy + Rookie, Fyfe, Martin
To beat
DENVERCROWS
POD’s Adcock, Suckling, Grimes, Lake, Gibbs, Boyd, Cornes, Kreuzer, McIntosh, N. Roo, Dangerfield

The closest match of the round should see The Spuds who lost the 2010 Div 2 Grand Final just get over the line to beat Honda’s Heroes

I think you do have the leg up with your mid pricers Alaska, but interesting to note Supercoach Gold has projected Honey Badgers 2172 v Longwood Lions 2074.

Big question mark on Mummy tho :?

Three of my early selections this week have been hit by the general with Priddis out. The Spuds, Footyledgens and Puopolo Potenza are now looking down the barrel and the form of Broughton and Lake could determine these matches!

You could be right there Ron the Rumcoks are in blistering form but the Beasts may yet pull out an upset by naming Cox as captain?

The cobras have pulled off the biggest boilover in Hogg history to defeat the highly rated Cossi's Carnts by over 300 points in the opening round. The cobras have been the whipping boys for two straight seasons in Divison I only playing well during their relegation finals. For the first time ever The cobras have won an early one and are the surprise leaders in Division I. Cossi mate you must be spewing, that loss could be really costly.

Meanwhile Hogg premiership teams BenjisBeasts, Slim Shady DTC and Marion ManBearPigs all awoke from their pre-season slumbers to post impressive first round victories. Stangley enough teams with a strong rep in Rumcoks, Honey Badgers and Has Been have yet to make their mark this season so the pressure is on for these blokes in the coming weeks to get their teams up and moving.
