4 games each to go, and to get PROMOTION...

6 is Soton "Magic Number"
7 for Reading (need 1 point more as their goal difference may not be enough).

Wins reduce a teams number by 3, a draw by 1.
West Ham losses will decrease both Soton and Reading's Magic Numbers by 3. Hammers draws would minus 2.

So Soton could get there this weekend, with a win and a Hammers loss - the only assumption being that the Hammers couldn't make up the 13*+ goal difference in 3 games. (Currently 11 but a Soton win and Hammers loss would add at least 2 to this).

Its massive, the winner gets an almost unassailable advantage in the promotion race. Soton are worthy favourites on their home turf, but the Royals form is hot. Game on.

Tbh, I just want to see a Hammers loss, as Imho this game i pencilled in a Soton win anyway. If Reading can draw woohoo. A win and I am going to really party. CMON Royals!!! :-D:-D:-D:-D

Southampton 1 - 3 Reading.

I think we are going up :D
Just 3 points needed now, or a WHU loss.

Dominant by who? Reading had only 3 shots on goal and scored each time! I lost count how many shots we had. Ball played in Reading's half most of the night. Total domination by Southampton which deserved 3 points, at the very least 1 point. To get nothing leaves a shit taste in my mouth.
Well done to the royals though, took their chances and have won 16 of their last 18.

Yes i missed half my post. Reading were dominant where it counts, made the most of their chances. Soton probably deserved a point but were just not clinical in front of goals.
Still think both sides are safe though, only a matter of who will go up as champions.
From recent memory the Champions usually fare worse off the following season with the big boys anyway

Dominant by who? Reading had only 3 shots on goal .... Total domination by Southampton.

Yes, it was a smash and grab by Reading for sure. Soton were very very good, just let down by a bit of poor defending. Plus Reading were amazingly good at taking their limited chances - sign of a great team.
