We're in trouble, whilst we have no forwards. Thus far from last year, forwards and goal kickers we're missing are; havelberg, obst, gunstan, Henderson, callinan, o'sullivan, hynes and to a lesser extent Hayes. Our only forward recruit, young Lawton, can't get on the park. Our centre half forward made his debut last year, probably hasn't played 20 games or kicked over 8 goals. A few years ago he was playing about div 4 amateurs.
Our leading goal kicker last night won the b& f last year playing in the back lines.
Obviously only having about 10 players available from last years gf side doesn't help, but we need obst back.
Still hope though, I think our defence is fine.

Yep, just a few ... 31 currently either out injured or being treated for injuries at the moment between the League and Reserves squads.
Cheers

Faark, thats plenty, are most just short term though?
Looks like the rest of us still have something to fear later in the season

I think most people including Central supporters thought we played above ourselves last year due to the injuries we had. From last years GF side we were missing Jenner, Hayes, J Gowans, Callinan, Sutherland, Dunne, O'Hara and O'Sullivan. Then there's Havelberg that retired. So we were missing 9 players from a team that most think played above themselves for most of last year. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that we're not going to be going as well. Given our team over the last couple of weeks I think we've done OK. No need to press the panic button yet. The positives are that we've now got Marschall and Prior who have both proved that they are good league players. It's also not fair to pass judgement on the new recruits in Collier and O'Brien yet. Remember when the Gowans came over? They started in the reserves. Look where they are now.

Before the end of the season we can expect to have all these players back other than Callinan or Havelberg plus Obst and Nash. If we don't lose anymore players to bloody injuries we should hopefully start to fire in the second half of the season. The first half may see us have a few more losses than we're use to though.

I knew I'd forget someone!! How could I forget him. He is probably one of our biggest losses.

I should also add that Central supporters should just relax and enjoy watching some of our younger and unproven players develop.

Many of those mentioned didn't play much last year either.
Obst doesn't have much luck but like many former AFL players they find it hard to stay on the park week in week out. To me he his similar to West's Adam Hartlett who seems to play three games then miss the next five

We are not that bad, we are winning our fair share of the ball, our defence imo is playing very well, its our non exsistant forward line or size that is killing us.

When Pumpa comes back then Hardy will be able to play as a perminant forward. Thomas Dunne will add a bit of size to the foward line and when a couple of other midfielders come back i think you will find Eddie Sansbury will go back to playing as a permanent forward.

Chad O and Jenner are also handy when resting in the forward lines. If we can get to a 50/50 ratio at the half way mark i will be happy and back us in to make finals from there.

Will still finish top 3 and make the GF, and most likely win unless the Eagles have their way.

Centrals and Eagles are all but gone for 2012.
Centrals MAY get into the finals race but need injuries to go their way.

Dont remember West last year?
With the eveness of the comp this year 8 or 9 wins may get you in the finals.
Way too early to write anyone off

It shows how bad our injuries are when Westhoff is being selected in the league side...the sooner he **** off back to the Barossa League or to Menzies Crescent the better...
