Earth Hour

Postby Bully » Sat Mar 31, 2012 10:47 pm

Does anyone actually switch their lights off for an hour tonight?

Im sure it costs more and uses more power to turn everything off (lights) and back on then it is to leave them on for that hour? Im sure this was proven in the mythbusters show??

The game at the Bay was stopped for an hour ... Well done to the club for having the foresight to do that.

surely not?? what does that achieve as the game is finished after the lights are back on?? it would make no difference

if they switch the lights off during a footy match, the game then goes on for an hour longer once the lights go back on

the point is i think its not worth the effort to do it seen as its only for one hour. Maybe 8 hours or even 24 hours might be the go.

Symbolic I believe... ;)

Personally, I don't bother. The whole global warming topic is a scam...

I left all my lights on at home even though I wasn't there ... you are all subsidising my solar credits so why would I care?

Just wondering if CC has any credible scientific analysis to support his statement.

In my experience such statements denying climate change have NEVER been substantiated with any sort of credible scientific analysis and I suspect CC's comment is no different...

but if it is human influence that is causing the heating up and it isnt a one in a million year event etc and we dont do anything about it then we will be in trouble
