Highlight of the night was Mr Welso diligently picking up each bit of cut up paper thrown onto the ground ... All couple of hundred pieces.

Well done, a potential serious injury was averted by your quick and decisive action.

The same said Mr Weslo again saved the day after the game when he, with no regard for his safety, retrieved a still smoking flare amongst a group of kids and bravely extinguished it on the ground.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Highlight for me was the ground announcer. Surely the club is taking the piss if that guy continues in the role. Sounded a little bit like the former coach.

Last years announcer will return for the next game - He originally thought he would be unavailable last night so a fill-in stepped in.
I was grateful when he finally turned the National Antham CD off half way through and we could all hear the angelic voices of the kids choir. The kids did a superb job

will the speakers stay at the light poles?

also just get some lights onto the scoreboard for those who are viewing the game from other parts of the venue.

As I said previously it is a pity Glenelg were not playing Port, Sturt or Norwood to get a better idea of how many would turn up.
West Adelaide supporters are out numbered at Richmond, never mind away games !
A lost occasion IMHO.

Yeah the wiring is in the light poles, so they'll put 'em up take 'em down like the Weagles do....

And yep re the scoreboard / time clock.

The speakers on the poles could be turned down a notch or two during the breaks. We don't need music blasted at us.

Nor would it hurt to get some low-level lighting in the crowd on the outer & northern side. Could hardly see the Bloods cheer squad waving their flags in the second half; it must have been awkward to stand in darkness.

I hate how even competitions like the SANFL assume that we're so braindead we need constant stimulation by providing music or announcements at every possible break in play. Finals at Footy Park are unbearable for this.

I'm perfectly to happy to talk to the people I go to games with during the breaks without having 'Mustang Sally' blasted at me.

Well you were standing only a few meters from the speakers!

I thought it was OK ... nothing during play unlike Noarlunga where the ground announcer thinks we all come to hear his voice.

Considering it was the first game under lights and with the heavy restrictions of the approval to use them, it was fine. The speakers had to be readjusted at the last minute due to approval conditions (they were setup much higher).

A few things to tweak for the next night game no doubt.
