DEL SHANNON
Live in Sydney 1989 concert
When I think of early 60s, I think a lot of the great Charles Westover or better known as Del Shannon
Just about every song he made was a goodun
That meduim to high pitched voice is sensational
Dels voice was deeper by 1989, but still sensational
At times he sounds a bit like Billy Joel, another gem of a singer
Some of the great hits include
Little Town Flirt
Runaway [1961 his first hit, and one of the all time greatest songs]
Hats of to Larry
Sea Of love

A little known song Del had was called Walk Away
This song was produced by Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty [2 other favorite singers of mine]
Del gets those high pitched tones really going in this song
This may have been his last song, was done in 1989

In 1990 Del passed away, he shot himself
55 years old
His music will last forever
This was only less than a year after this Sydney concert
