Richmond have plenty of promising players but their backline is very ordinary, too many dumb decisions in the back half

Umpiring seriously influenced that end to the game. I dont think we were going to win, but when we had massive momentum (carlton had just answered to go 12 points ahead), and then yarran kicks the goal to go 18 ahead, after CLEARLY running out of bounds and the umpire in perfect position. That was the match there and then!

Dude. You were lucky to get away with 44 points. We missed some absolute sitters. Should've been closer to 60 to 70. You got a gift goal with a supposed head high on vickery I think it was. The umpiring was even

They're on the wrong track with Hardwick too. I'm tipping he won't see out his contract.

After watching last night- does Dustin Martin ever chase?

I noticed a few very half hearted chases, best highlighted by the Yarran goal.

He'll no doubt improve but I watched him a bit closer last night due to having him in the dream team and he seems a very one way player. Tiger fans may be able to shed more light on this as you see him week in week out.

I thought the exact same thing watching him last night. More than happy to put in going forward but coming back to defence he lacks a bit of urgency IMO.

Wow...way to write off a team after 1 game.
Maybe Richmond misses the finals this year, but they're on the right track.
They are still a young side and still a work in progress and they'll be around the mark next year.
Hardwick is definitely the man to take them into the future.

While they have Vickery and Miller across CHF they are fecked. the gap between their top 5-10 and the rest is massive, until that closes they are a long way off.

The Tigers are probably 3 years behind where the Blues are and it showed last night.
But... Theyve got heaps of good young talent coming through.
Just don't write them off yet.

Wrong, you guys lost it when Vickery spilled that sitter 30m out straight in front when you were 6 points down. Only for Carlton to take it straight down the ground and score.
Correct about the Yarren decision though.

Agreed, Vickey takes that grab & goals & Dusty doesn't miss that sitter straight in front different story.

How do Brad Miller & Shane Edwards get a consistent game? It defies gravity.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Pretty much same old story last night. Too many dumb decisions under pressure and no where near as clean as Carlton. Blew too many half chances and you can't do that against what should be a top 4 side. 2nd quarter was terrible but spent too many tickets getting back into the game so not surprised that the blues ran over us in the last. There were positives such as actually having a competive ruckman but its only round 1, so dont panic just yet.
