Adelaide Footy League Talk

There will be some anger at the Anzac Day blockbuster thats for sure.

Will be interesting when Tommo and Joey Muscara run at a 50/50 contest..

I am tipping Ramblers in a very tight one. Mr Footballs 1-10.

If they are expecting 2000 people you would hope that there will be beer and other beverages on offer around the ground?

Charlie Man i would think they will play Simon Maddern on Petruno. Madds is very good defensively, i am not sure they would want to play Christofis on Petruno, as Districts will need him up forward to kick the goals, if they are going to win.

Who will Seaton play on Peucker? Shaun Hughes maybe?

This game is sure to have everything at some stage. It will be hot early so expect to see tough contests in the first 15 minutes and some very hot umpiring decisions to settle the game. Last years game went down to the wire with districts winning by a point but ramblers did have there opportunities with Rex having 3 shots on goal in the last 7 minutes only to kick 3 points. Wouldnt suprise me if a similar small margin result would be the result. I guess the team that settles the quickest may just get a bit of an advantage. I'm not sure if it will get spiteful but it will be on none the less. Pueker, Lynch and Christofis will get special attention I'm sure and how they handle that might be the key to the game. My tip is that Spider James will pick pueker up when he goes forward and if he is getting a bit of it in the middle gowers the best stopper in Div 2 to wear him like a glove. Ramblers by 3 to 4 goals. 4 day break will come in to as well. Player management by both coaches will be of great importance leading up to this one. Lets hope there is a big crowd there to see what should be a great game of footy.

Newman are you really Michaelangelo Rucci???

You sound like you have your own column in Sportsbeat?

I was at the game when Rexy missed three from about thirty. If one went through the Seaton boys would have won. Is Rexy still running around? Was that his name in the two's on the weekend?

[

[[size=9]i]Boys what about big place who is going to stand him? Isnt simon maddern Full Back so surely he would have to get that job i would have thought. Seaton are going to be hard to match up on this year with Patruno playing second fiddle accross the HF line which will be a role that suits him nicely, yes he does have great hands and could be a game winner. I would suggest that districts would have to play Perry on him.

Where is Lynch playing for districts forward or back? Who will stand him or will he stand someone?

And yeah apparently muscara is out, luckily for him as i think a few of the seaton boys have some squaring off to do with him??

Seaton by 8 points, although the game is there maybe districts by 8 points, stuff it i really dont know should be a good game though!!![/i]

Shouldnt take him long just hope he has learnt to kick straight, could you imagine if seaton lost again due to his poor kicking, 3 shots from the exactly same spot you would think he would have kicked at least 1!!! If he did it again i would think he would be on suicide watch yeah?

Now these players,
Gale, very defensive and could probably handle div 2 but not div 1 skills are not polished enough, but he will always have a crack!!
Patruno, very good hands and can take the unexpected as he has a long reach, but can be a little soft with injuries, front runner..
Marsall, wasted his time running around in div4 & 5 for all those years where he should have been a quality player in dive 1 for 15 years, getting on but like a bottle of red!!! Highly respected!!

Hodgey was a great player and from what i have heard speaks well and dmands/deserves respect from his players, 153 goals in an SANFL season, true greatness and a record that he will hold for life unless they make the season into a yearly sport!!

Hosie, dont k now enough but pretty quick on the sledge apparently, but very good knowledge of opposition players. Will be handy!!

Marshall was very attached to the Portland FC, and he played Div 3 and 4 there.

Do you know why he left the club? There were a number of players that left? Was it because he was sacked as coach? Was he sacked as coach?

I heard from a reliable source that after Portland were relegated, the club asked him to take a pay cut as coach, and he wouldnt do that so he walked out and took a heap of players with him.

Who will get the job on place, fraser , patruno, up forward for the rams in the anzac clash??

Districts arent that tall are they, i wouldnt of thought they could cover all this size!!

Will the tag the little angry red head Alfie steed?

I think the game will be won in the coaches box!!

If he was fairly well entrenched why would they want a player of his calibre to take a pay cut??

I am not certain he wanted to leave the club.

I am not sure the relegation or the pay cut is right either. He doesnt seem to be a guy that would just play or coach for money.

Word Around Town I'm not sure where you get your mail from but I know that the year he left Portland after coaching and playing and winning the b/f that year the club gave him a cheque for 1300 dollars. What made it worse was the fact that his assistant coach was paid 1000 dollars up front and didnt rock up for the last 3 games of the season. I'm not sure how much of a pay cut he couldve taken. I played that year and the committee gave him no support.
