Trial form excellent but lets take it into the season and that starts with a BIG win over the Eagles. Go Maggies !!

Very .

I think Port maybe the side that will be the over rated one. I actually hope I am wrong as it's good for the comp .Much better for the comp if the traditional sides are up .

I'd rather be in the Grand Final with a chance to win it, than win the wooden spoon - but I think I get what you are saying ;)

I think the Magpies should be aiming for a top 3 finish with finals a bare minimum.

Totally agree on the last point. Anything less than finals is a failure this season.

On the first point, my take from 2011 was that this was more a forwardline pressure / midfield issue where once turned over, we let side rip us to shreds on the rebound. I expect that additional experience added to the squad and another tough preseason under the belt will help eliminate this problem.

Rucks are our key this year. We should be getting 1st use 90% of the time.

True, the backline did have little help from the midfield and perhaps looked less threatening because of the nature of the opposition ball movement into our back half.

Just an observation from an Eagles fan, but is'nt Dolling wasted at half back? Watching him operate off the wing in past seasons, his ability to deliver by foot to your forwards was a constant threat as I saw it. Also what's Wilson's year been like after all the hype pre season? Has he been injured?

Is it just me or do port fans grossly overrate what their club(s) can achieve ??

Atleast they beat centrals in a trial.

Very surprised to see Port on the bottom as I thought they would be big improvers this year.

Not having a go but Port would have to be one of the biggest surprises this year, sitting close behind the Eagles' form slump. In hindsight, it's hard to see what all the hype was about heading into the season, is it just that their players and squad have been vastly over rated or are there bigger issues at hand. Serious question, if Port finished bottom 2 would the coach be safe?

Heading into the season I always thought they lacked depth. Clayton, Harder and Meiklejohn are good players. Summerton, Dolling, Biacsi are decent players, but haven't really ever been brilliant. There have been some suprises like Gray, and some partial flops like their interstate recruits, but I don't think they've got the talent in the rest of their list to be a finals side. I tipped them to finish bottom at the start of the season, but my prediction looked a little ordinary after the first match of the season. Missed yesterday's match but it sounds like I may have been right the first time.

Port seemed to have fixed the problem with losing close ones.

Which port is worse Maggies or powder ??? We should start a poll.

Who would replace bamford if he was to be sacked before the end of the season ??

Oh thats a great idea.

I'll start a poll on whether you post about your club or Port Adelaide more. I think I know the answer already though.

One day when you have 37 Premierships you can come out of our shadow.

Considering both Ports will be lucky to be around to win another premiership we are half a shot of doing that one day.
