Norwood vs Sturt Trial Game Friday 23rd March

Postby Go Legs » Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:53 pm

Norwood host Sturt at the Parade tomorrow night with the following starting times:

Reserves - 4:55pm

League - 7:40pm

The Norwood teams have been posted http://www.norwoodfc.com.au/News/LATEST ... MATCH.aspx and look very strong "on paper" but with 5 AFL players to squeeze in all trying to get back into contention for their respect AFL clubs this looks like being a one sided event.

I will be at the footy for both grades with my laptop so will feed scores from the ground, that is if BP is not calling the game.

Cheers,

A must win game for Norowood and if they lose this questions must be asked. Was itreally Bills fault or has Bassett got toomuch influence.

My tip...........

Sturt will try and settle a side a bit but treat it as it is ..............a trial game.

Let me guess, your really a 10 year old trapped in an older body??

Norwood have a pretty imposing look about them. Their Victorian recruits should be in the prime of their careers and i don't see any obvious weakness, maybe a bit light on in ruck. Bass has the boy's finely primed for round 1.
Sturt a promising work in progress and Seamus doing well but below par in the key defensive roles.

Norwood by a fair bit if they are switched on.

Just arrived at the Parade, sorry but Late out of the starting blocks

Half time at the reserves game
Norwood 5.10 (40)
Sturt 3.2 (20)

Norwood very wasteful with set shots in front of goals even at this early stage of the game

Cannot give goal scorers or best at this stage, things will improve in the second half

Cheers

3rd Quarter

Norwood 11.12 (78)
Sturt 4.4 (28)

Norwood switch a cog that quarter with Mitcg Grigg dominating and a new recruit
Alex Wills kiking 3 for quarter

Sturt playing Everyone behind the ball and it is raining not good viewing.

Final Score Reserves,

Norwood 14.15 (99)
Sturt 7.8 (50)

Scrappy event right to the end
Star of the Norwood forward line is definitely Alex Wills with 5 goals to his account.

First Qtr

Sturt 3.5 (23)
Norwood 1.3 (9)

Sturt showing a clean pair of heels and for straight kicking should be 5 goals up. Working the ball well with good
handball leaving Norwood exposed down back on many occassions.

Goal Scorers
Sturt: Anderson, Evans, Duldig each 1
Norwood: Phillips 1.
