What cheap defenders everyone taking in at this stage?

ive gone with Ellis from Richmond, Gurthie & Bugg & gotta find one more. Finding it a tough position to fill currently.

Yagmoor from Collingwood? Played all 5 games in the NAB Cup, only $106,600

Not sure on his JS. Try Morris from Richmond or Darley from GWS.

Pft stuff picking a 35 year old washup when you can pick Gibson, Congilio, Shiel, Devon Smith, Neale & Magner in your Midfield...

Pft Young fellas of today… … Gibson is still a rookie, has not been upgraded and had two terrible games in the NAB, Shiel is untried, has had an injury interrupted pre season and has only played ½ Reserves game, Devon Smith is only being played in the GWS forward line and will have limited opportunities to score against a true midfielder, Neale has had an injury interrupted preseason and is still not sound although Magner your age,who now has been upgraded looks ok but will have had the last three weeks off before debut.

I reckon Shiel will play this weekend.

Whether he is selected or not this weekend, I will be getting him, because if he is named Round 2/3, I'll be wasting a trade to get him. Will light it up! Magner also, upgraded for a reason, is a tank and fit, so the 3 weeks out isnt that a big disadvantage for him. Worst case scenario is round 2, especially if Melbourne lose Rd 1 to Brisbane.

I know it comes up every year but how does the Captain 'loop' work. I think it maybe pretty important with the double lockout in Round 1.

Pick Goodes as VC. If he doesn't get his expected 160 against the Gi-ANTS you nominate Gazza Jnr as Captain. If Goodsey guns it put Lee Spurr on the bench as your skipper. This equals two shots at a big score for the Capitano. The only way you can farg it up is if Spurr gets a late call up and scores a 38 because Goodes 129 wasn't good enough for you.

Only problem here REB is that Goodes is a notoriously slow starter. Is anyone picking him straight out because of his Rd 1 start? Thats my theory on Mumford I will take to the last moment with Goodes, either will be him or Chapman.

He was on my watchlist until today when I saw he had played just about every minute of every game in the NAB so it tarnishes his scores from a points per minute and points per value point of view. Others have now moved in front of him.

I've seen someone present some stats that prove that this theory on Goodes is a bit of a furphy. Over the journey I reckon Goodes is much better value than Chapman as he'll play more games I reckon.

Got Kennedy at the moment but he's been named in the back pocket which has me spooked a bit. At the same time everyone will be going Shiel, so Kennedy could be a good POD. Decisions decisions, hmmmm.....

Interesting that many are ignoring Nathan Wilson as a forward, over popular names like Smith, Kennedy, Dickson, Hall, Pfeiffer etc. The lad scored more Points-Per-Minute during the NAB than the others (1.202 PPM) and could be a good rookie point of difference.
