i havent made it out to training for a while so cant confirm 100% but did hear stringer was due back.older simmounds brother has been out having a run also!
button is having another crack at glenelg and hickey is travelling with work im told so is doubtful if he'll make it to the park

I heard Strath had picked up two young guys from the Hills COUNTRY league not the Hills Central? Are they definite A graders though???

There will be a points system change next season as i believe it was voted in at the delegates meeting last going onto an average wins per season over three years to decide points modelled on blg league points system...

willunga tanked in round 18 2010 by loosing to the creek to move from 3rd to 4th. belted them the next week in the elimination final. but the extra points didnt help them in 2011

I'd be very surprised if strath drop out of the 5! Beat yank by 10 goals in the semi last yr.

Ladder for mine; very uneducated but in this order for the following reasons. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on any points, only going on limited facts;

Creek (may of lost some goal kicking potential but have the means to replace it)
Willunga (have lost some experience but have the depth)
Strath (Some big outs but have some very good kids running around)
Victor (Have some very good kids coming through who will make an impact, may lack some size without Brown)
Bays (certainly the biggest movers in the off season, will have a great midfield but do they have enough big men?)
Pongy (quietly going about their business, have been building the last few years, i'd like to see them get in to the 5)
Yank (Have lost some big names, haven't heard too many stories about them being replaced.)
Goolwa (Again talk of some big recruiting as there seems to be most years, but never seems to translate on the field)
Mclaren (Again, haven't heard a lot but needed to fill quite a few holes they had)
Compass (Unfortunately suffered what most of us would dread, a mass walkout. Hopefully not as bad as suggested)

LF if you are going to quote me especially when it's written right above you quote correctly, "talk of big recruiting", this means something different to what you've written in my book. "Big recruits" suggests big names, "big recruiting" suggests lots of players. I was told there will be a few new faces at Goolwa. But as i said, happy to be corrected.......not misquoted

The top 2 won't change from last year.
I thought Victor may give it a shake this year but Brown is a big out.
Lohde is a gun & will help Yank alot but i heard they lost Plant with a knee reco & King with a broken arm from the weekends trial.

Totally agree 'fabio' strath have been in the top 2/3 for the last 5 years so even though they have lost a few should still be in the top 5 mix. Bit hard to be picking ladders at moment but definately think creek and willunga will be the top 2. But creek not having much depth last year and having no points spare will find it hard when some injuries hit. A few of the top teams from last year won't be as strong with most teams looking like they have lost more than gained. The standard of the comp will drop a bit but should be alot more even. Points system is definately making it hard to replace quality player departures.

Didn't they lose about a dozen first choice players last year... They were still more than competitive then.

Seems the majority of us mention strath as a club that may drop off every year but they always cover their losses. They would have been top 3 for 10 consecutive years?? They'll be there again
