He has been a fantastic servant of pro wrestling, six time world champion, eleven-time tag champion, and the only active title he has not held is the Intercontinental title.
For Rhodes to move up the ladder, which will happen eventually, he will have to drop the Intercontinental Title, and what better way to do it than have an awesome match at Wrestlemania, lose the title, and win a Money in the Bank type match?
And it allows Big Show to have a good run with the belt, as a face against Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre (when he returns), Jack Swagger type heels, putting them over in his final run?
IMO your miles off in your summation of The Big Show. 40 is not that old by Wrestling standards and he rarely has to bump much. WWE lacks quality big men and he works well as heel or face and still has plenty of guys to put over as Champions in the years to come as well as at least one more World title run himself. I was told the other day as well that he has openly stated that he will work for Vince as long as the company will have him. Final run
