Has everyone been able to organise their triple headers (if you are wanting them of course)? Any issues or comments about how its worked out with the league with the new changes this year? We have manged to get 2 extra ones booked in form the one we had scheduled by the league in Round 1.
Any hit outs or trials that were done on the weekend? We had a combined C & B grade trial with Hectorville. Was a good hit out and some good signs early on. Hopefully we can gel more looking into round 1.

We had a combined C & B grade trial on the weekend too, against Woody South. Was a good hit out for us too, and was good to see some of the new blokes and under 18's have a go for the first time. Positive signs for our C grade I think.

Yeah not bad at all mate. Not going to take anything away from Hectorville they hagve some great players. We were able to string things together after being a bit sleepy by the end of the 1st quarter. Not bad in the end. The same a s all 1st trials there are things to work on.

I guess the PHOS trial will be a better indicator of where you guys are at. Is that this weekend or next?

Ahh, taht would be next weekend i think mate. Its always a good hit out with those guys. At least this time we will be playing them later in the pre season tahn first up. Give both sides an chance to get things started. I am looking forward to the C & B grade combined game. Playing a Div 1 reserves side is always exciting. Big test for us in C grade.

Would love to be able to oblige mate but we dont have trials as a C grade seperate to what the club organises. In fcat our C grade has never had trials on their own. How did you go have you had any takers yet?

Even worse was finding out on sa footy. Most of the boys have played in the first 2 trials anyway, there's still a few that need their first run though

We named about 55 for the C and B grade games. More than enough to organise an internal trial. Might even put some cartons up for the winner to ensure the boys are fair dinkum against their team mates!

Well the season is just under 2 weeks away and the trials are done. Looking at round 1 there are new teams and old (that i know of) so my tips are purely based on what i have read, the teams that have recruited in their higher clubs grades i.e. B and A grades and whats on here). Would lovve to see everyone elses thoughts. C grade comps dont usually get a lot of comment or recognition so its about time it did.

Seaton Ramblers vs Pembroke OS - Seatone were down on form last year. Not sure on their recruiting but compared to Pembroke last year. Seaton should get the job done here.
Portland vs Port District - Massive, massive game. The penninsula derby of all time (exagerated i know). Two teams taht have never come up against each other but it seems Dizzie's have recruited well which should give them some better depth over previous season. This is also the case with us btu only time will tell. Would like to think we can get up here and get off to a good start.

Sacred Heart OC vs Athelstone - basing this purely on here say and whats happened on here.
Adelaide Lutheran vs Pooraka - Pooraka were competative in some games last year. I do fond it hard to understand why they are in this division but thats all been said. With Lutheran having lots of numbers they will be too strong for Pooraka who did struggle for most of 2011.
All in all i wish all team s the best of luck and to be honest im massivley pumped about this year. FOr us it the coming up a div and the changing teams in the div its going to be a good year (hopefully that statement doesnt come back to bight me in the a$$)

The Athelstone C grade have been dealt a massive blow with the announcement of David Harris calling it a day.
He was penciled in to line up at full forward this year which was a massive in for coach Adrian Hart. David would of been a 70 plus goal full forward this year and his experience would have been vital to this young group.

Tell you what i have never had a more nervous selection night with the magnitude of our first ga,me against our local cross bridge rival. Not just that but round 1 always gets me nervous. Our round 1 performances in the past have not registered the best results so we will look at turning that around this wek. How's everyone else shaping up?

Selection was pretty tough for our C grade coach last night, having to leave a few out, but we have a pretty good side on paper - just need to perform on the day! Unsure what Unley have been like in the past couple of seasons, so will have to wait and see how our lads go. Would love to get a win away from how first up!
