I love the banter, like getting it and love giving it, but people need to realise it's just a game and some fun and need to learn to be able to handle it and take it with a grain of salt.

As opposed to personalised attacks and name calling hours after the fact in a space that i guy can't defend or explain his actions. Good to see we can agree on something :)

Thats a very fair comment, im sure we have all at some stage let emotions get the best of us. Semi final, big occasion, plenty on the line I can appreciate your comment. I imagine had we lost their would've been some very cranky lads too.

I don't doubt that someone on our side would have pushed a couple of your guys for a reaction if we'd got up

And the difference is, Jon & Pete were happy to dish it out but not cop it back, thats the whole point. All fun & games for them when they can give it but when they get it its like someone ran over their cat!

Anyway moving on from the whole Angle Vale thing... well done on a successfull season for your club as a whole and good luck next weekend etc etc..

Well done to the Rose & Crown cricket club and in particular to all the people behind the scenes who put in so much time and effort and deal with a lot of stress that comes with responsibility especially Russell Figallo as the Captain/Coach.

The clubs A grade only a few years ago finished 7th and were fortunate enough through circumstances not to be relegated and will now compete in their 3rd successive grand final, but more importantly the B grade - after being in Grade 4 for a number of years until this year - will now go up to Grade 2 next season after their progression to the grand final this weekend.

This has been an important goal for the club, trying to emulate similar successes on and off field like powerhouse clubs like Salisbury West & Brahma Lodge.

Its a massive step forward for the club.

You know what they say about throwing stones though, I can recall a certain purple fella putting me down during the course of the season.

Come on Tintin dont try and make this about you now, we know your there, dont feel special that I dropped you, I dropped nearly everyone over the course of the season ;)

Mate, not about me at all bud. I was pointing out that we all have bad days in the field.
It's clear that you don't like the Angle Vale blokes much, it's also obvious that there is a bit of history between the two teams, cast your mind back to last season though mate and what would have happened had it not rained?
You blokes got the win and I'm sure you celebrated after it like it was nobodies business but there is such a thing as a sore winner.
Stop living in the past mate, Im sure you blokes have bigger fish to fry this weekend, or am I wrong?
Congrates to Rosies and Westies on a top season from both, hopefully the weather is nice and we can watch a good game of cricket between them.

You couldn't be further from the truth or the point, infact I wonder if you yourself even know what your talking about?! :?
1. I have nothing against any of the AV lads, I have no reason not like like them
2. None of this is about a bad day in the field, this is about the behaviour of 2 players who were keen to chirp but not get it back and then the reaction of the captain after the game.
3. Last seasons semi was precariously placed probably in Vales favour, of course Rose & Crown - although would rather have won the proper way - were happy to be on the correct side of a weather affected result, particularly after the grand final the year before.
4. Celebrated? Was barely a celebration  no one remembers semi final winners, and the weather and way the game ended was so dour it was really a very anti climatic result.
5. Oh wait your talking about this year.. oops well no not really much celebration, was definately a few beers in the club after but no different to any other game, was no big noting or talking up going on. There was some discussion reflecting on the game - same thing that happens every game, but most had left the club by about 6:30pm
6. The most pleasing aspect of the win was not the fact we go through to next weekend, but the fact that after last years semi, there was some closure for us that we were able to beat AV without the weather and move on from the fact we won last year because weather.
7. Sore winner? Yes there can be, Im sure i look like a sore winner with my posts, but I can assure you they would be no different if we had lost. Not once have we "stuck it up" the Vale for losing etc, we are humbled and gratefull for our win and the intensity the game was played in, we were just disappointed in certain actions.
8. Definately not living in the past, our focus is 110% on this weekend. so pull your head out your ass

D.Jenner 5 fa if that bloke doesn't win the Mackenzie medal
This year it will be a joke! If he isn't making runs he is
Taking wickets! A lot of teams crumbled this week but good
To see there were also some great comebacks to unlucky to angle vale
Or Carmen vale as its better known good to see the two
Most deserving sides for the year will meet in the gf
Let's just pray we get a game in and the weather
Holds off!

Andy Carman has been equally as impressive, has less in-team competition also.

Agreed.. surely a 2 horse race? Or are there any smokeys you think LM?
Andy was very impressive on the weekend with both bat and ball, he does owe us a new stump though after snapping one in half when he bowled D. Jenner!
