Not the runner of this comp but usually you pick the whole 9 games per week. Pick your team as per normal - but weight your selection on a 12,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 scale depending on how confident you are that that team will win. If your team wins, you get those points. Your team loses, you get 0.
I'm not sure how Gadj wants it done with the split round first up but I'd imagine it would be easier for him to tally if all of us did the whole round

The rules are pretty simple. Pick your team as per normal - but weight your selection on a 12,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 scale depending on how confident you are that that team will win. If your team wins, you get those points. Your team loses, you get 0.

So for instance, the draw is:

GWS vs Gold Coast in Syd
St Kilda vs Freo in Melb
Melb vs Rich in Melb
Coll vs North in Melb
WCE vs Geel in Perth
Adel vs Bris in Adel
Carl vs Syd in Melb
WB vs Port in Melb
Ess vs Haw in Melb

My tips would be

St Kilda 12
Coll 10
WB 8
Gold Coast 6
Adel 5
Gee 4
Syd 3
Haw 2
Rich 1

Results are:

St Kilda, North, WB, Gold Coast, Adel, Geel, Carl, Ess and Melb win

My points are 12, 0, 8, 6, 5, 4, 0, 0, 0 = 35

Obviously toward the end of season, when you want to try and pick upsets, they can become worth 10 points, depending on how gutsy you are (or how far behind you are).

It would be a truckload easier for Gadj if we all picked the whole round, but have you seen some of the games? I would really like to see the teams in at least the Carlton v Tigers, Cats v Freo, Hawks v Pies at the very least before I select anyone. Maybe to make it easier, we all just pick Sydney as our 12 pointer

Yep, given that we can't see the teams, I'm happy to just have the one game. 99.9% of people would've picked Sydney anyway, so the rest of the games can wait. Next week we'll pick from 10-1.

I've had a thought about people not putting tips in - rather than give them bottom points I suggest we give them 12-1 on the basis of the home sides in the fixture. So for instance this week, if Sydney were the winning side you'd still get 0 (GWS being the home side).
