Absolutely. Get him on the park for a full season, and more of a midfield role this year so i cant see why not!

Port announce new corporate partnership :

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/charity-begins-at-home-and-away/story-e6frea6u-1226299763277

PORT Adelaide Football Club will today announce a deal with Foodbank SA to share funding from corporate backers between the club and the charity.

The arrangement - an AFL sponsorship first, hailed by the hunger-relief organisation as "heaven sent" - aims to reposition the Power as a good corporate citizen while topping up the coffers of the debt-ridden club.

The Power will seek to sign as many as 10 companies to support its football campaign and Foodbank's fight to end the hunger of 130,000 South Australians.

Port and Foodbank will each receive half of the net proceeds of the sponsorship, which asks for at least $50,000 from each corporate partner.

And well done on finding different ways to get to the sponsorship levels you need.

Port cop a fair amount of criticism (often warranted, often not), but at least they keep trying to find new streams of income in a touchgclimate (both economically and through their own diminished brand perception in some circles).

SANFL lovers should be hoping this is a big success, because the healthier Port are financially, the less strain the flow-on effect has.

Might miss the first two from what I hear. Any more damage to the finger could result in surgery and 6+ weeks, so going to be cautious and miss at least one, maybe two.

I would say he is in with a chance. He was recruited for this exact scenario....

Blee had an interrupted pre season with Glandular Fever, I'm not expecting him to debut this week but I expect him to perhaps play a game or two later in the season when he shows some good form with NA.

So your expecting Chaplain and Carlile to take the key posts. Third tall defender to be who? Will need one to Match up on the resting McEvoy, kosi or Stanley IMO.

Westhoff down back?

Yeah its not ideal, Westhoff is probably the best option although I'm not convinced he's a long term solution as a defender. Paul Stewart may match up on one of the Saints' taller forwards although will probably concede 5 cm's to his opponent.

Daniel Stewart will follow Kosi around, play on him in the ruck and as the third tall defender. Leaves Westhoff as a back up ruckman and defender if required.

Schulz, Butcher, Westhoff in the front half, Stewart, Carlile and Chaplin in the back. Redden to ruck with Westhoff and Stewart to help.

Interesting. Didn't realize Daniel Stewart could play at both ends. Interesting to see how he goes.

Port are without arguably their 2 best players - Gray and Trengove - (well 2 of best 3, with Boak who is playing) for round 1 against the Saints.

Gray has hamstring tightness and is a big loss.

With those 2 out, I think they will struggle to overcome the Saints, who'll I'll tip by 27 points.

Good win to start with.

Forward line looked potent with Butcher, Schulz and Big Stew looking dangerous. Westhoff looked out of sorts, but there were four big blokes moving around in the front 50 at times making it tough for at least one of them to get near it.

McCarthy, Ebert, Boak, Cassisi, Rodan and add Gray looks like a midfield that can give those big lads enough of a look at it.

Hartlett was superb across the back line and Carlile with Chaplin did a great tandem job on Reiwoldt and Kossi.

Surjan was beaten a couple of times on the ground by Milne, but Milne is clever and there is no disgrace in him beating you one on one a couple of times. All in all, Surj won the battle.

Redden was great in the first 15 minutes when we got 5 goals in front and all of a sudden with Big Stew playing well Renouf and Lobbe have got some work ahead of them to remove the incumbent from the ruck position.

Most people I think would have St.Kilda 8-12th and if we can compete like that with the other teams in that region ( Kanga's, Essendon, Sydney etc ) then we can expect to play well against the Melbourne, Richmond, Bulldogs of the comp. Early days, but after 2011 don't anyone get up me for being a little bit excited about how 2012 might pan out. I said "might". ;)

I think 7-10 wins could be on the cards with the side building up nicely.

Happy with our start so far, would've liked to run over the bombers but don't wanna ask for to much to early!!

Finally this week we get Robbie Gray back, probably one of the most frustrating players along with Hartlett, always bloody injured, swear they miss more than they play, but when both playing at there best, great players to watch and easily in our top 5 players.

Should really give the Swans a crack this week, don't rate the Swans to highly and down here we are a real chance.

Also, how long John Butcher out for? not playing this week either...
