We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

the woods wont struggle. they are incredibly well resourced and can easily finance new recruits. they also have a number of gun senior colts moving up to seniors this year. these lads are very good and will make the transition easily. the side will probably be much quicker than last year as well.

as much as i hate to say it, they will be around the mark again this year.

still the giant underachievers in the comp though. with all their resources should have won numeorus flags.

Gigney
Roche
McCormick
Sidebottom
Myles
Ridley
Mandmaker
Cobb

all gone, have also heard un-confirmed that Herbert maybe be gone and Padroth may have retired and Hopton sniffing for other offers with littlle success. Young Minuzzo would have been good coming through but hes gone and im sure that Philp and richter will make the 18s in town.
So it looks like Troy Edwards would want to start lifting a few weights as he may have a few blokes to carry around this year

How has Phil gone the last few years up at Blackwood. Played at Mitcham prior to that and I wondered whether he would crack the Blackwood A's.

Just curious about the slide of Mt Lofty - I've always been interested in the Hills comp and Lofty always seemed successful but now being talked about as wooden spooners. Is it money, or players just moving on? I see at least 3 have gone on to Amateur league this year - 2 x Artis & Oliver Temme - will they be big losses to Lofty?

while they've been good for the past 5-6 years, before that that they went the best part of 2 years without winning a game.

sometimes a team goes up and down due to natural cyclical forces, or sometimes it's linked to financial issues (as with lofty). either way, you just have to adapt.

I don't think the issue would be with regard to finance - more concerned with the number of points available. To get players to cover the quality of outs would require players who've played sanfl reserves level or close reasonably recently i would have thought

Correct, due to a serious financial difficulty (non player payment related) Lofty have decided to go down the path of not paying players for this season and as a result a few players have left as it seems they don't want to stick around when they aren't spoon fed success. Expect Lofty to be a young club around the 20-25 year age mark that will be competitive at times, but will lack depth if injuries etc occur. A new off field team has taken over and is starting to rebuild the club after people involved in the past let things slip on the off field side.

Why would Bridgewater want to play Maccy in a trial? Are they about even this year??
