Apparently Travis McIntyre dropped from A Grade to C Grade without the club seeking permission. It used to be a rule that juniors were exempt from this, it's nowhere in the constitution now. I don't think Westies would've done it to stack their side, they were only playing Wasleys.

Missed a game as well due to ankle surgery. Been playing as a bowler in A grade but didn't bowl a ball in the game against Wasleys. He in fact only stood at slip the whole week 1 instead of a regular slip fielder. We were never going to gain any advantage from him playing, yet the association think an honest mistake that made absolutely no difference to the game warrants denying a team the chance to play finals. Totally out of touch with the game IMHO.

Does seem very harsh, common sense should prevail IMO.

Not taking the pi55 BUT
how was the honest mistake made, lots of experienced blokes at the club even blokes on the pdca commitee such as Ace.
is a very harsh decision but you havent left PDCA with much option, the rule doesnt state about how much of an impact the player has to have on a game. Its simply a black and white rule. By allowing it it would open a huge can of worms and set a precedence if other clubs did the same and the player doesnt perform per say.

It's an innocent mistake because the rules used to be different. I know for a fact we were able to drop someone down from B or C grade down to E grade finals a few years ago because he missed a few games with a hamstring injury. Nobody was aware the rule was as it was or we'd have not made this mistake. As for opening a can of worms, they can make a judgement call on each incident as people do in cricket all the time. I don't think they need to make it a case of just brush under the table, there are many faired options. The penalty always has to fit the crime, in this case the penalty is way over the top.

Hey TG, howcome most of these rules stem from Craigmore CC indiscretions, I believe that's the Rob Howe rule.![]()
Do you have anymore? It's too early for me atm.
