Keith Wyness, the former chief executive of both Aberdeen and Everton FC, has taken on the challenge of selling Twenty20 cricket to the United States.

Wyness will be responsible for the successful launch of a professional domestic Twenty20 league, including the sale of franchises and commercial television rights. A planned launch this year has been postponed for 12 months to allow Wyness time to put his personal stamp on plans that may represent cricket's best chance to make an impact in the US.

Just for MP ;)

Mark Boucher is likely to announce his retirement after South Africa's tour of England in July this year.

"I would like to go England and then start a process of trying to get another keeper involved. I think I've still got a lot to offer in that department," Boucher, who is part of South Africa's Test squad touring New Zealand, told ESPNcricinfo. "My body is getting a little sore, to be honest. The back is starting to play up a bit. If I can manage myself form-wise and it all goes to plan, then after England I will probably look at my career and my retirement."

Thami Tsolekile, who took over from Boucher in 2004, has been earmarked as his successor once again, but Andrew Hudson, the convenor of selectors, said Tsolekile was not guaranteed a place in the national side simply by virtue of his contract and that other keepers around the country, such as Heino Kuhn and Dane Vilas, are all eligible for selection

Tuesday marks the first day of what is anticipated to be a grueling 12-day ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in the UAE where 16 Associate and Affiliate teams will be vying for two open spots at the main event in Sri Lanka this September.

- Afghanistan enters the event as the defending champion from the qualifier in 2010
- Netherlands should be confident of finishing in the top three as well with South Australia batsman Tom Cooper providing a lift. Ryan ten Doeschate ditched the Netherlands for a payday at the MiWAY Twenty20 domestic tournament in South Africa
- Group B frontrunners Ireland have two youngsters leading the way in Paul Stirling and George Dockrell.
- Namibia has the best chance of any of the non-ODI nations to finish in the top three in their group.
