Not quite Harry. Wehrman made 150 last game for us and he's in next. Congrats to Rich, fair effort coming off 2 ducks!

Ive seen a bloke be given not out for LBW then walk off.

Not a wicket, but ive seen someone get out then turn around and smash all three wickets with his cricket bat. Wickets went flying and nearly cleaned up the other teams players running in to celebrate.

Searching my database now to see if i can recall any others.

There are times and places for sending the opposition in. The cricket field is not one of them. The captains who did this need to go down a razor blade slippery dip and be made to use their testicles for brakes.

The only time a team makes nearly 300 against Paralowe and im assuming they had a full team of fielders. Maybe they should field like the regular season hungover and 3 or 4 short.

I won the toss and bowled 1st last year in the grand final, personally i'm not fussed over batting 1st or 2nd especially on hard wicket where the only conditions that vary is the weather. Having said that.. Win the toss and bowl you want to be able to back it up, your putting added pressure on your side because people have that psych that you've gotta get the runs on the board 1st

Harsh but true. ;) Runs on the board in a final are gold. Pressure does strange things to the side batting 2nd in minor round games. Amplify that 5 to 10-fold in a Final. Scpres of 150-160 are probably harder to chase than 300 in a Final, because you know you should get 'em easily, and far too often try & get there ASAP.

If true, in NEK's case they probably thought they had the psychological edge after ripping thru PV's line-up the previous match. Game is far from over anyhow, especially on that ground. Rose Lakes should have no probs chasing that down, but once again, funny stuff happens in Finals. What number you coming in Cougs, not #10 or #11 again I'm assuming?? :D

Should have batted 11 :( Think I need that corrective eye surgery Richie has just had. ;) Didn't pick up a straight ball at all till it hit my back leg (I hope Father time isn't talking to me :() to give George his easiest LBW decision of the day.

60 runs 6 wickets in hand sounds easy, but it is a Final. Wehrman, Sparrow, Henderson, Riddle and Clarke to follow too.

well as you say runs are on the board for vista......
up to us if we want to play in the g/f . if we bat well anything is possible.
A big congrats to Marshall, he played a great game. making a ton anytime is brilliant.
but when your team WAS in trouble until marshall and hoddo steadied things up.
best I have seen both these two batters play in a long time. hoddo leaving so so many deliveries.(quite unusual)
yes we bowled first and we were doing ok , THIS JUST FOR YOU HOTPIES.......
I had three for nine of 7 overs at one stage.......smith.. bowled....cus...lbw..(plumb too) ...tarca...caught at square leg....
then it went to crap
martini.....well batted mate, brought a tear to my eye with the way you belted that ball around mate, glad I wasnt bowling then...
good luck to all teams in finals ......

Your right smasha, to be honest if I didn't nick it onto my pads I wouldn't have even looked at the umpire. Would have just walked . But that's cricket, for me anyway!

never doubt yourself smasha, especially playing on your home ground, which is just as small as a postage stamp ground as Rose Lakes and just as quick, 300 runs is gettable on that ground

The search of the database is now complete, and the only other unusual NEAR dismissal i can recall is when i smashed a ball down the ground at a fair rate of knots, cracked my batting partner fair and square in the noggin, and richoceted ? into the air and landed just short of mid wicket.....he had a nasty and prominent bruise for weeks. The bump was so big he thought he was growing another head and has since moved to Tassie.

Haven't seen any funnier than my brother's dismissal in U14's, way back in the day for Rosewater. Playing Flinders Park in a semi, I'd opened & was still there when my little bro' strode to the crease as our #11. I met him when he got near the pitch and filled him in on the goal ; 2 balls left in the over. Keep the one on the stumps out and leave anything wide of the pegs. He was 11yo at the time and the pads were that big he was talking in a high pitched voice.

Anyhow, first ball is wide of off stump, and like a top order bat, strode forward and raised his bat well away from the ball, letting it through to the keeper. 2nd bal was down leg-side and his eyes lit up, took an almighty swing at it, swung himself off-balance, pivoted 180 degrees and knocked all 3 stumps clean outta the ground in his follow through.
