Norwood and North very healthy, about a thousand.

West look liked they split their squad in two.

At Noarlunga: South Adelaide annihaleted their opponents. The Panthers with a depleted side had a spirited loss against much stronger opposition.

Correct Doc and many of the better players only played a half. I was reminded last night that we were beaten by South in our first trial last year and then won 5 of our first 6 matches.

It's fair to say the Eagles were experimenting in the first half and went back to something that appeared closer to their normal team in the second half. The only injury I noticed was Jimmy Toumpas with what appeared to be a shoulder or bicep injury.

We were the inverse of the eagles all our decent players on at the start of the game our 2nd stringers at the end. By halfway through the third Mules, Rudolph, Allen and Davenport all on ice. Several players still out Butten, Tenace, McMahon, Holmes and Milne. Good to see our best is good enough but the last half showed us the things we need to work on.

Both clubs would be happy with what they saw today for a trial game.

" Good to see our best is good enough " ..... please , there is no way you could seriously make that call on seeing that stuff yesterday unless your expectations for this season are only to be competitive and no more ! Pure trial game and all you want in March really !

Obviously West are not that far off Port , but after a full pre season theres no excuse for being non competitive for Collins men unless their nursing quite a few into round one . Win or be run out of town for Collo , but trials dont count and the ladder doesnt lie ! But a man well under the PUMP already , so its must watch stuff from here on .

Ventured to Alberton and was very impressed with the Magpies but I ask the question of the westies supporters, why would your coach have your team flood during a trial match? what a disgrace, everytime West would come out of defense there would be nothing but two or three loose Port players for them to kick to. Surely this is not the structure your team is going to play with this season, I know they had a few first choice players not playing but to constantly have 18 players in the back half if not the back 50 in a trial match says to me that your coach has you going in the wrong direction. Teams in the SANFL should be playing football not this basketball style of B.S. where everybody is on defense until we get a fast break like we see in the AFL.
Just interested in what the Westies supporters that were at the game thought and would you put up with your team playing like that all season? don't think I would.

Mate, he was super impressive. Strong mark, good on the lead, nice kick for goal, solid build, good defensive efforts, snaps goals on the left foot, unselfishly gave off a couple of goals to team mates, it was the perfect game from him yesterday

This guy will be good for the Maggies...
